Chief of Health Promotion/Exercise Physiologist (1998-2003) Responsibilities included Managing two Wellness
Clinics at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and Fort Bliss, Texas and an Outreach Center at White
Sands, New Mexico; Managing chronic and communicable diseases department employees and programs; Developing and
evaluating a weight reduction program for overweight soldiers and their dependents that included working with physicians
and healthcare employees to ensure patients were being monitored and meeting their individual goals; Initiating and
Allocating resources to an Exercise Physiology Clinic; Recruiting and Evaluating talent to provide services; Selecting a
comprehensive database to track and analyze data to generate/present program evaluation reports to Commanders;
Overseeing budget and financials for the Department; Presenting the strategic plan for the Department and engaging all
stakeholders to embrace; and Collaborating bilaterally with related organizations.
Worked with numerous university interns and interested them to pursue the field of Public Health; hired a few of the
interns upon graduation.
Trained and coached a young Sergeant to lose weight and to successfully pass her physical training requirements, after
being placed on a list for dishonorable discharge and given a timeline to lose the established weight profile.

Part-Time Faculty Primary duties focused on conducting GED classes in Spanish/English and French conversation classes
at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels; also, taught basic and advanced mathematics courses.
Counseled approximately 40 students who were first-generation college attendees in their family and instilled in them the
confidence and tools needed to complete college and go on to higher degrees. Some of the students heeded the advice
which proved instrumental in enhancing their family dynamics.
