ABOUT THE DREAM DEFENDERS:

The Dream Defenders are a statewide, Florida-based organization focused on building power in Black,
Latinx, immigrant and working class communities. We were founded in a whirlwind moment after the
murder of Trayvon Martin. Since 2012, our cultural and grassroots organizing has positioned us as
leaders in the fight against the police state - in Florida and around the country. We recently completed an
18-month process of community listening, reflection, analysis, and planning towards a strategy to end
youth incarceration. Today, we continue to build a powerful, deep, local, intergenerational organization
and movement. The Dream Defenders will end youth arrest in Florida by 2022.
