stick the flashcard on the board. Repeat with the others.
Whats in the box?: I put plastic fruit inside a box, shake the box and
students guess what it is. They pull out a piece of fruit, I ask "Whats
this?" and they answer.
Practice with flashcards:
1. Rhyme with flashcards: stick cards on the board and repeat a
chorus with student.
2. Whats missing?: With the flashcards stuck on the board, I ask
children to close their eyes. I take a flashcard out and say whats
missing?. They guess which one is missing. Then, students come to
the front and they do the game.
3. Match the flashcards: I stick figures in black and white on the board

student. Say take an apple and put it into the box.
Apples, do this!: I divide the class into three groups of two: bananas,
apples, oranges. Then, I give instructions: apples stand up! Bananas
touch your nose! And so on with different actions.
Puppet asks: I use the puppet to ask individually do you like...?

say yes or no. Then, I encourage them to practise among
themselves the same questions.

"Quick Check": I make sure everything is put away and the students
have gathered their belongings. They make a line next to the door
and for each student I check one new word (e.g. I hold up a colour or
fruit and ask "What's this?"). When they give an answer, they say
goodbye and leave.
