Conscience is an inner feeling that guides us to recognize morally right and wrong behavior according to reason and God. There are three levels of conscience - the instinctive level focused on reward and punishment, the moral level making ethical judgements beyond commands, and the Christian level seeing morality as a call to holiness. Conscience comes in different kinds that can be properly or improperly formed.
