FORM

Use the simple form of the verb. The simple form is the infinitive without the "to."
The simple form of the verb "to go" is "go." The Subjunctive is only noticeable in
certain forms and tenses.

USE
The Subjunctive is used to emphasize urgency or importance. It is used after
certain expressions (see below).
Examples:

NOTICE
The Subjunctive is only noticeable in certain forms and tenses. In the examples
below, the Subjunctive is not noticeable in the you-form of the verb, but it is
noticeable in the he-form of the verb.
Examples:

the same.

noticeable here.

Note the difference of subjunctive and indicative in the following example.

She insisted that he be present. = She wanted him to be there. (directive

aspect; subjunctive)

She insisted that he was present. = She knew that he really was
there. (observation; indicative)

In the example above, you can also see that mandative subjunctive is always
used in infinitive, even if we talk about a situation in the past. Note that in
negative sentences, the auxiliary do is not used for subjunctive mood.

She insisted that he not be present.
