The most prestigious entrance exam of engineering in India, JEE Advanced (Previously known as IIT-JEE) has
th
been conducted on 24 May 2015 with paper 1 (in 10 codes, code-0 to 9) from 9am to 12pm and paper 2
from 2pm to 5pm across the nation.
Paper-1 had total 60 questions; 20 in each subject, out of which 8 questions were of Numeric Response
Type with having 4 marks for each correct answer and no negative marking for any wrong answer, 10
questions were of Multiple Correct Option Type with having 4 marks for each correct answer and -2 marks
for each wrong answer and remaining 2 questions were of Column Matching Type with having 2 marks for
each correct answer and -1 mark for any wrong answer. It is clearly visible that, this paper had 50% multiple
option correct type questions and because of this, it would be difficult to score marks in this paper.
Paper-2 had total 60 questions; 20 in each subject, out of which 8 questions were of Numeric Response
Type with having 4 marks for each correct answer and no negative marking for any wrong answer, 8
questions were of Multiple Correct Option Type with having 4 marks for each correct answer and -2 marks
for each wrong answer and remaining 2 questions were of Paragraph Type with 2 multiple choice questions in
each paragraph with having 4 marks for each correct answer and -2 marks for any wrong answer. This was
definitely a lengthy paper with having 60% multiple choice multiple correct type questions. This year JEE
Advanced paper setter has changed all the possible code theories of analysts.
Over all this years JEE Advanced paper would be a low scoring paper, framing of questions were very
confusing. Many of the multiple choices multiple correct answer type questions had only single answer
correct which must have confused students and student would have left many of such questions because of
fear of losing marks.
This years JEE Advanced exam was overall an ABOVE AVERAGE exam.
Physics
Paper-1
o Questions were descriptive and maximum questions had diagrams
o 6 questions had lengthy calculations
o Overall paper was above average and each question was conventional question which a
student must have undergone while preparation of JEE Advanced.
Paper-2
o Paper was above average
o Numeric response type questions were easy
o Multiple choice type questions were difficult
o Passages were also difficult and lengthy too
Chemistry
Paper-1
o Paper was a bit conceptual, it would be a low scoring as marking was difficult than routine
o Paper was above average and student must had found it difficult
o To solve this paper one should be very logical

Paper-2
o This paper was also a low scoring paper and conceptual one.
o Physical chemistry part was really difficult.
o Multiple correct type questions were confusing as only one option was correct.
o It was an above average paper
Mathematics
Paper-1
o Examiner had continued Maths paper credibility & quality likewise every years Mathss
paper
o Paper was innovative and some questions had lengthy calculations
o Overall paper was lengthy and calculative but it covered complete syllabus as prescribed in
JEE advanced syllabus and distribution of questions were very good
Paper-2
o Paper 2 follows the legacy of IITs.
o In this paper they mainly focused on calculus part and this shows they want to judge the
analytical ability of students.
o Questions were not simply based on formulas but needed lateral thinking also.
o Paper was above average overall, good students can score well but for average students
there is nothing in this paper.
