Being a partner in your childs
education is as easy as A,B,C.
a. Be involved. Know what your child is
studying. Keep yourself tuned in. We have a weekly school newsletter to keep you posted as well as Class Dojo and the School Website. Parents are invited to become classroom reading tutors. b. Dont be a wonderer wondering whats going on or wondering why something is happening. Call. Ask questions, express a concern, suggest a solution or share an idea. You can reach me at school (4841 1573). The best time is between 8:00 and 8:30am or between 11:30 and 12:20pm. You can email me anytime at: [email protected]
c. Understand that students do have
homework. Dont ask your child if theres homework. Ask your child what todays homework assignment is and when he/she will have it completed. Ask if you can help. Then check to see that the homework is done.

The basics and a whole lot more WOW! Here are some of the things we expect to cover this year. In English students will: experience a wide range of literature and discuss how writers relate to their readers. We will be studying the author Roald Dahl, and through his writing be encouraged to create original works. improve spelling and grammatical features through an intensive focus on spelling patterns and maintenance of previously learned words. be encouraged to interact effectively in pairs, groups or individually.
In Mathematics students will:
increase their multiplication and division skills. be introduced to various forms of multiplication and division. solve equations with missing signs. be able to select the correct strategy to use when problem solving. add and subtract numbers including decimals. use calculators. recognise angles and shapes. construct a variety of graphs. develop money skills. apply maths skills to real life situations. be able to estimate answers and aim for quick recall of number facts.
In Geography we will be examining features and
characteristics of places and environments through the unit Places are Similar and Different. Students will examine natural and man-made features of Australia and the diverse characteristics of Australias neighbouring countries.
In History, through the unit First Contacts we will
introduce World History and the movements of people. Students will examine European exploration and the colonization in Australia and throughout the world up until the early 1800s.
In Science students will develop the knowledge and
understanding of Life Cycles of Living Things and the ways that changes in the environment can affect life cycles. This will be achieved through the unit Which came first?
Creative Arts will be exciting with the study of Australian
artists and their works. Students will be creating their own masterpieces using some of the techniques by the artist being studied.
Children will also be actively involved in daily fitness,
general sporting activities, carnivals and gala days.
Library will on Monday mornings and the introduction of
Robotics will be undertaken on Wednesday afternoons. All this . and a whole lot more.
