Combat
Kittens only fight when they play, never trying to harm their
playmate. When confronted with actual combat, they cower
instinctively, in hopes that their assailants have a heart.
Cower (Ex): As a free action, a kitten can cower
in fear. This is a mind-affecting effect. Any good-aligned
character attempting an action that could harm the kitten
must attempt a Will save (DC 20). If the save succeeds, the
character continues its action, although its inner moral
conflict (weakness) causes it to take a -2 circumstance
modifier on all concentration checks made as part of the
action. Failure means the character can't take actions that
could harm the kitten for 24 hours. Good-aligned characters
must make a new Will save each time they attempt to take
an action that could harm the kitten, with a -10 penalty for
each successful save made against a kitten's cower ability
in the past 24 hours. The save DC to resist this effect is doubled
when the action that could harm the kitten is swallowing it whole.
Easily Eaten (Ex): Creatures at least one size
category that make a successful bite attack against a kitten
and forgo damage resulting from the bite attack may
automatically succeed on a grapple check to swallow the
whole, even if the creature doesn't have the swallow whole
ability. At the end of a swallowed kitten's turn, it takes
1d2 acid damage from the digestive system of the creature
that swallowed the kitten. The kitten may make an attack or
full attack against the creature that swallowed it during any
round during which it remains swallowed. These attacks are
made against an AC of 10, because the creature's natural and
armor do not protect its internal organs, and no deflection,
dexterity, or dodge bonus to AC can prevent attacks made from
inside a creature.
