Fluent and CFX Tascflow

This 6-credit course covers the use of computer programs to simulate velocity and pressure distributions in fluid mechanics. It includes 20 hours of lectures, 10 hours of tutorials, and 45 hours of laboratory work over one semester. Topics include numerical schemes for fluid mechanics equations, finite volume methods, turbulence modeling, and solving the Navier-Stokes equations. Laboratories involve simulations of laminar and turbulent pipe flows, mesh sensitivity analysis, and simulations of axial turbines, radial compressors, and radial pumps. Assessment is through written and practical tests.
