Bus-Bar Sizing PDF

This document provides guidelines for sizing busbars based on maximum permissible temperature, temperature around circuit breakers, and busbar material. It gives recommendations for the number and size of copper busbar strips needed for different circuit breaker models and service currents at various connection temperatures. An example is provided showing how to use the guidelines to select the proper busbar sizing for a given scenario.

Example
Conditions:
b drawout version
b vertical connections
b Ti: 40 C
b service current: 1100 A.
Solution :
For Ti = 40 C use an NT12 or NW12 which can be
connected with two 63 x 5 mm bars or with one
63 x 10 mm bar.
