Marie Eugenie C. Soriano: Lesson Plan
I. Objectives
IV. Method/Approach/Strategy
From yesterdays lesson, we have learned using the proper tool for a specific
task is very important. We also learned that it is not enough to know the
correct tool to use; we also need to learn how to use these tools properly.
Before we proceed to our next lesson, let us do a quick recap of yesterdays
lesson.
The students will be a set of placards with the words: SAFE, DANGEROUS,
PROPER and IMPROPER. The teacher will show photos of tools being used in
different scenarios and the students will have to identify whether the photo
shows, safe, proper, dangerous and improper use of each tool. Each student
will raise their placard. A student will be chosen to explain his or her answer.
B. Lesson Proper
a. Motivation
The teacher will show set of tools and ask them whether they can identify
the tools and their uses.
The teacher will pick up a pair of tweezers and ask them if it should be
used to loosen a slotted screw. The answer will be no. Students will not be
using needle-nose pliers (show to class) in stripping wires either.
b. Teachers Activity
With the use of a PowerPoint presentation, the teacher will define the
different definition of terms, categories of hardware tools and the function
and use of each tool under each category.
c. Learners Activity
The students will familiarize themselves with the different tools used in
computer hardware servicing. Each student will be given a set of pictures
of the tools discussed. They need to arrange the pictures according to the
categories of hardware tools.
d. Generalization
The students will be grouped into two groups. A group of words will be
posted on the board. Using the words on the board, each group will have
to present something (it can be a short skit, a song, a poem, a speech,
etc.) that will show their appreciation of learning the different names and
functions of hand tools. All the words will have to be used in their
presentation.
