The Bible lesson discusses the beginning of the Christian church as described in Acts 2:36-47. After Jesus' ascension, the Holy Spirit came to the disciples on the Day of Pentecost and Peter preached to the crowd, telling them about Jesus. Over 3,000 people responded and were baptized, joining the new church. The early believers shared what they had and took care of each other. Each day more people were added to their numbers as the disciples spread the gospel message.
