Part II: Reflection
CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
Teaching your peers and adults and facilitating technology varies so much from classroom
teaching. Through this experience, I have learned the importance of preparing, but also allowing
enough time for teachers to work within the content presented. Just because you are teaching
adults, it does not mean that they will progress through the material faster. When teaching
technology, the staff may actually progress at a slower rate than students as they are not used to
working with technology as much as the students are.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Knowledge: The knowledge required to implement the workshop was based on my understanding
of what teachers use and what applications would be beneficial in the classroom.
Skills: The skills necessary for the technology workshop required me to know the applications
forwards and backwards in order to best prepare for any questions that may arise. In addition, I
needed to have the skill set on how to apply the various technology applications to the varying
content areas. It was important to make what I was presenting fit across all content areas of the
curriculum.
Dispositions: Having a positive and upbeat attitude was beneficial in my connections with
teachers and hooking them into trying or revisiting the technology applications. Through
staying positive, teachers wanted to see the difference in what the applications could provide today
and the benefits it can have on the classroom.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
This technology workshop impacted faculty development. The impact can be assessed through
the survey implemented, but also through connecting with school faculty through Discovery
Education and student login through Destiny Discover. Follow up will take place through e-
mailing departments and contacting teachers who completed the survey from the workshop.
