II. Pitch Matching: Greeting and Getting Acquainted a. Teach greeting to students. b. Refer to page 89 of Kodaly in Kindergarten III. Pitch Matching: Shape/Color Cards a. Pass out one card to each student. b. Sing Who has a (COLOR) card? (Sol Mi Mi Sol Mi) i. The children show you that they have that color and they sing We have a (COLOR) card. c. Who has the (COLOR) (SHAPE)? i. I have the (COLOR) (SHAPE). IV. Familiar Song: All the Little Ducklings a. STARTING PITCH: G4 b. Sing song with motions. c. Sing song while keeping a steady beat on knees. V. 2,4,6,8 a. Start singing the song and see if students start singing with you. b. Remind them that this song means to make a circle. c. Tell students to sit in a circle. VI. Game Song: I Have Lost My Closet Key a. Teach the new verse. b. Teach the students how to play the game. i. Students stand in a circle with their hands behind their backs (palms up). ii. One student will walk around circle holding the key as we sing the song. 1. That student must give the key to somebody before the song ends and keep walking around the circle. iii. New person with the key will lead the second verse. He/She will sing the first line, the rest of the class with sing the second line. iv. Do it all over again. VII. New Song: Ickle Ockle (if there is enough time) a. Teach song by rote. VIII.
