- Csrds is a traditional Hungarian folk dance, the name derived from csrda
(old Hungarian term for tavern). It originated in Hungary and was popularized
by Romani music (Cigny) bands in Hungary and neighboring lands of Serbia,
Slovakia, Slovenia, Burgenland, Croatia, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Transylvania
and Moravia, as well as among the Banat Bulgarians, including those in
Bulgaria.
- Radetzky March, Op. 228, is a march composed by Johann Strauss, Sr. and
dedicated to Field Marshal Joseph Radetzky von Radetz. First performed on
31 August 1848 in Vienna, it soon became quite popular among regimented
marching soldiers. It has been remarked that its tone is more celebratory
than martial; Strauss was commissioned to write the piece to commemorate
Radetzky's victory at the Battle of Custoza.
2 Ilokano Folk Songs Medley, Ti Ayat Ti Maysa Nga Ubing and Pong Pong
Guinapong
Arranged by Fabian Obispo
- "Ti Ayat Ti Maysa Nga Ubing" means "love of a child". In this song, it is a
young girl who is singing. She discourages a very old suitor and tells him that
a young girls love is as sweet as a blooming jasmine in the month of April.
She further tells him that an old mans love is so bitter, she could retch. She
prods the forgetful man to look for a widow who matches his graying hair and
falling teeth. At the end, she tells the old man not to think of her anymore as
her heart is already beholden to someone.
- Pong Pong Guinapong, is a song that depicts about a farmer who cooks
Pakbet and brings this in going to the field.
