Why we do, What we do?

Series One : #Productivity

What exactly is productivity ?

In AIESEC, productivity is directly related to the number of

members working in the department.
(#exchange/#members)*100
This will help you to identify the percentage of members
being productive ie. contributing to your department goals.
How does productivity relate to
effectiveness and efficiency?
Eec5veness is doing the right thing.

You must make sure that all your objectives serve your
goals, which in turn serve your purpose
Objectives: Short-term
Goals: Long-term
Purpose: Serving customers

Caution: Effectiveness must come first in all your

considerations about productivity

Eciency is doing the thing right

Examine all tasks and determine if there is a better way

to get them done

Caution: First make sure employees are doing the

right things

How do we drive exchange through
productivity ? (Based on KPIs)

1. Member Reten5on Rate: Number of members at the end

of 6 months/ Number of members at the start of 6 months
(after allocation)

If member Reten+on rate - 40% and produc+vity is 1, what will

produc+vity increase to if TMP reten+on rate goes up to 75%?

We are calculating TMP retention rate (from new members recruited)

because:
1. This is a huge challenge in many LCs
2. It makes sense to calculate retention for new members because over 6
months it can be normal for retention to be lower

2. Team Standards fullment rate

If Team Standards fullment rate 50% and Produc+vity is 1, what
is team standards are 75% fullled, how much will that increase
produc+vity?

3. Number of Team Leaders

This is a KPI for Productivity only when Leadership Pipeline is a
challenge and this challenge is stopping growth/performance in the
organisation!

Productivity as a culture
To work towards productivity, you need to create a culture of
productivity which comes with clear steps.

1. Create the desire within team members on why do we need to

achieve the goal
2. What are the attitudes you need in your team?
3. Have clear team principles that each one of the team member will
be accountable to.
4. Have challenging and engaging tasks for your members.
5. Tracking goes without saying.

In order to achieve your TEAM Productivity, concentrate on the

INDIVIDUAL Productivity.
How do I synergise with my VP TM?

1. Sit with VP TM and have a clear productivity goal (for each

stage of the Customer Flow)
2. Track productivity of your department monthly.
3. Analyse the learning and development you (VP) had for the
members in the period of tracking.
4. Analyse the learning and development received by the
members.
5. For all the challenges ask, What can be done better or
differently to achieve our productivity goal?
