Tiile - This Ordinaice shall be known and cited as the “Quezost City Comprehensive Ha Zoning Ordinance”. ARTICLE AUTHORITY AND PURPOSE SECTION 1, Authority - This Ordinance is enacted pursuant to Sec, 458, Paragraphs 2, and 4, of RA. 7160 otherwise known as the “Local Government Code of 1991." 2wiii, in ‘SECTION 2. Purpose - this Ordinance is enacted to achieve the following purposes: 7 4, To promote and protect public health, safety, peace, morals, comfort, convenience and general welfare of inhabitants of Quezon City, b. To guide, contect and regulate future growth and development in’ accordance with the Compreliensive {and Use Plans for Quezon City: To promote the optimum use and allocation of tind for future development needs; 4. To protect the sharacter and stability of residential, commercial. industrial and institutional areas, parks azid open spaces in Quezon City, ©. To provide adequate light, ar, privacy and convenience of access to property and to insure safety fe from fire and ouher dangers; £ To reguiate the location and use of buildings and land in such a manner as to obviate the danger to ‘ + Pibblic safety ceused by undue interference with existing or prospective traffic niovernents on streets and shorowghfares, SECTION 3. Deciared Zoning Princi ~ Zoning is the division of the city into land use zones, the specificaiion of patterns, nature and characteristics of uses and the provision of density, and environmental reguiations in conscnance with the Comprehensive Vand Use Plan and strategies, as well a land use policies and objectives of ihe community «s prepared and identified by the Joint Legislative- Executive Coinmittee for the Preparasio the Quezon City Coinprchensive Land Use Plan which were adopted and made an integra part heveo! as Annex A. ye ARTICLE TE” . SECTION 05. Funding - The funds necessary for the implementation of the "Quezon City Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance", shall be sourced from the City’s share in the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) corresponding to the devolved functions as provided for in RA. 7160 SECTION 06.
