Lab02 - Installation of Active Directory and Joining Domain
1. Assign a static IP addresses by right click Network Icon and select Open Network
and Sharing Center.
2. In the Network and Sharing Center window, select Change Adapter Settings.
3. Right click Local Area Connection and Click Properties.
4. Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) box.
5. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
6. Select Use the following IP address and enter the IP address, subnet mask and
the Preferred DNS Server address. Click OK and Close.
11. Select Create a new domain in a new forest and click Next.
12. Enter the DNS Domain Name (cimcs.edu.hk) and click Next.
13. Select the Forest Functional Level (Windows 2003) and click Next.
14. Select the Domain Functional Level (Windows 2003) and click Next
15. In Additional Domain Controller Options page, Click Next.
18. On Directory Services Restore Mode Administrator Password page, enter the
password and confirm password and click Next.
20. The Active Directory Installation starts and check box Reboot on Completion.
5. Change the Computer name, and select the Member of Domain and enter the
Domain name. Click OK
8. Click OK and click Close to close the System Properties dialog box.
9. Click Restart Now to restart the computer.
10. Log in as Domain Administrator (Domain name\domain user name).
4. Specify the First name, and User Logon name and then click Next.
5. Enter the Password and Confirm Password for the User account, click Next.
6. Review the configuration settings for the User Account and then click Finish.
7. Follow the similar steps to create the second domain user account.
8. In the console tree, Right Click Users Container, select New Group.
9. Enter the domain user group name and click OK.
11. Add ASuser01 to AS_Users group by right clicking the user account and select
Add to a group. Enter the group name and click OK.
13. Check if the user account is added to the corresponding group by double
clicking the user account, and select Member Of tab.
14. Log in as any one of these domain user accounts in the client computer
(Windows 7).
