Comprehensive School Improvement Plan

Benton Middle School was a Kentucky State School to watch in 2014, which is for teaching, empowering, leading and learning. BMS offers programs for student involvement which include Academic Quick Recall team, Drama, library club, student government. The faculty analyzed assessment data to identify academic achievement gaps. Teachers participate in professional learning communities and develop formative assessments that are used to provide instructional data. The use of this data has caused to focus on a mission that promotes character, achievement, and pride as well as personal responsibility in daily efforts. Students at Benton Middle are encouraged to lead by example, through this school mission, extreme character, achievement, and pride the faculty and staff BMS established an altruistic goal for the schools. Goal 1: Benton Middle Schools students will benefit from improved writing instruction

Measurable Objective: 100% of the students will demonstrate proficiency in communication in

writing by 05/20/2016 as measured by program review and on-demand writing scores.

Implementation of Middle school writing plan- students will be exposed to the district writing

guidelines and will be assessed on their growth through rubrics and writing scrimmages.

to 3.5% by 2020

Measurable Objective: A 50% decreases of all students will collaborate to reduce the percentages
of a novice from 8.7% to 4.5% in Reading by 05/15/2020 as measured by K-PREP assessment.

Benton Middle School has an opportunity to improve student Growth scores in Reading. TO

improve growing these students, the activities will be implemented. The targeted population will
