Schedule:
9:00 a.m. - check-in
9:15 a.m. - Divide into groups to accomplish various tasks for the day.
12 noon - Lunch
1:00 p.m. - Service starts again
4:30 p.m. - Clean up
5:00 p.m. - Service day ends.

What to bring:
∗ Please arrive at the store ready to work. Jeans, Khaki’s or other similar pants or shorts are appropriate.
∗ We would prefer that you wear a plain T-shirt, work shirt or casual shirt.
∗ Work boots are the suggested footwear for the store, but tennis or running shoes are OK.
∗ A water bottle! We have large Sparkletts bottled water onsite as we prefer to go easy on the environ-
ment, but you can bring bottles of water out and refill them. You will want it, it’s hot out there.
∗ It is important to wear sunblock, and sunglasses are also a good choice! You may also want to wear a hat
or visor for sun protection if you are working outside.
∗ If you have work gloves, you may want to bring those as well.
∗ Brown bagged lunch to enjoy during your break time.
The following is a brief description Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles’ Home Improvement Store staff
positions. It is asked that you familiarize yourself with the duties they hold and how they related to you as a
volunteer.

Store Director is the supervisor and manager of all Home Improvement Store (HI) personnel, including volun-
teers. The Store Directors’ priority is to ensure that all aspects of store operations run effectively and
smoothly.

Donations Coordinator facilitates the collection and delivery of donated goods from businesses and individu-
als, to the Home Improvement Store for sale.

Volunteer Coordinator acts as liaison between staff and volunteers, as well as, answer any questions volun-
teers may have concerning their rights and responsibilities.
