As the Universal Preschool Teacher, I have implemented NYS and
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE NAEYC standards into my classroom curriculum. Through Edukids Early Childhood and Special Education curriculum I have taught students lessons in Language Arts, Math, Social Canisius College Studies, Science, and Spanish. While working to help develop, not only 2011-2015 their cognitive abilities, but physical, emotional, and social development as well. I also taught students basic sign language related to the MASTER OF SCIENCE IN EDUCATION curriculum after taking a six week course in sign-language Differentiated Instruction communication. Canisius College In this position, I have also worked in conjunction with the Orchard Park 2015-2016 School District. Through this partnership, I preformed Brigance Standardized testing with the students in fall and spring, while working throughout the year to track individual progress. I also partook in parent teacher conferences, and was successful in meeting with every students family. While at Buffalo Public School #17 I worked in a 6:1:1 Behavioral
Classroom with students with emotional Disturbances. While completing my student teaching I was able to create and teach a unit on rhyming and I taught various ELA and Math lessons corresponding with the Common Core Modules on engageNY. Also, I coordinated a service learning project for the students to participate in a Fairy Tale reading. Students were completing the Fairy Tale unit in the Learning and Listening modules and part of the extension I create was to have them write their own Fairy Tales and share them with their classmates, other students, parents, and teachers. This placement provided me with a whole new experience working with a completely different set of diverse students.
