Demo Track
1. Aim:
Speed battle is line follower robot competition in which the robot must able to follow a black
line on white surface or vice versa. The arena will consist of straight line, curve line on track.
2. Eligibility:
2.1 The competition is open for all students of all the UGC approved universities in
Bangladesh.
2.2 Participants must compete as part of a team and every team must have a team leader and
a team name.
3. General Rules:
3.1 During the competitions, only the team leader is authorized to present the robot and to
contact committee members for any claim or specific need.
3.2 Each team can have a maximum of 3 participants.
3.3 A team may consist of students from different universities.
3.4 Participation certificate will be provided to all the participated team.
3.5 The winning team is declared based on point.
3.6 The organizers reserve the right to change the rules as they deem fit.
3.7 The judges can ask for an explanation of any mechanism on the robot and there would be
an immediate disqualification of defaulters of any kind.
3.8 Judges decision will be final.
4. Event Management:
The event would be organized in two rounds:
Qualifying round
Final round
5. Bot Specification:
5.1 Robot Must be ground wheeled (Plastic or rubber wheeled not metal wheeled)
5.2 Maximum dimension of Robot:
Length: 18 cm
Width: 18 cm
Height: 18 cm
5.3 Maximum weight of robot is 2 kg.
5.4 No wireless communication or external data feed to robot is allowed.
5.5 The voltage difference between any two points on the bot must not exceed 24 volts.
5.6 The Robot must be stable and able to move on its own. A bot not fulfilling these criteria
will be disqualified.
5.7 The bots must be able to follow the line according to event specifications.
5.8 Each team has to bring its own power supply for its robots.
5.9 The robot may be built from readymade chassis but construction set such as LEGO or
Meccano is not allowed.
6. Arena Specification:
6.1 The arena size is approximately 4mX2m.
6.2 The arena is consisting white line on black surface or vice versa.
6.3 There will be curve line & straight line.
7. Game Play:
7.1 The robot will be placed at a pre-assigned starting point on each stage and may be started
by hand when directed by the judge.
7.2 The bot has to start from the indicated starting point and reach the end point following line.
7.3 White strips on black background or vice versa denote lines.
7.4 End of task is indicated by reaching the end point.
7.5 Robot must be able to operate under any lighting conditions. (Team should take necessary
measures to isolate the sensors from external lighting like camera flash).
7.6 Any robot that loses the line must restart from the last check point. In this case the timer
will remain running during restart and a penalty will be pointed.
7.7 After submitting the robot and during competition time any change of hardware and
software is not allowed
7.8 After qualifying round, only the qualified teams can perform in the final round.
7.9 There is no option to skip any task.
8. Point Distribution:
8.1 Teams will be given maximum 5 minutes in the qualifying round and the Robot can take
maximum 5 restarts in this 5 minutes.
8.2 Teams will be given maximum 10 minutes in the final round and the Robot can take
maximum 5 restarts in this 10 minutes.
8.3 Timer will be running if a robot needs restart.

9. Selection of Winner:

The winning team will be decided based on a common point system. The robot which obtains
the maximum point among the participants will be the winner. If there is tie among teams,
competition committee and judge will take the further decision to break the tie. There may be
new test among teams to decide the final winning team.
10. About Registration:

10.3 Registration fee: BDT 1200.00/= Per Team
