ADVANCED MICROSTRIP TRAINER KIT (AMTK -9000C) ‘The Scientific Instruments Company Ltd. (SICO), Ghaziabad has been in the field of Microwave Passive Waveguide components and instruments since more than three decades, In the quest of continuous development program, SICO has come out with an innovative state of the art technology ic. the MIC technology. Now SICO launches the Advanced Microstrip Trainer Kit(AMTK) ‘The AMTK allows the students to study the principles of microstrip technology with specially made microstrip components. It a very high precision bench top system, which uses up to date microstrip, “components to illustrate the essential features ofthe MIC fel. It is designed to experimentally analyze the characteristics of mierastriacomponents. Specification of Source : Frequency Range:4.0GHzto6.0GHz Poweroutput:2d8m ‘Tunevoltage:0to 10volts Supply current( ee) (V-3.0v1:27mA Tuneportleakagecurrent: 10uA, Output Return loss:648 Harmonics 2nd, 31d) :-15dBc,-2548¢ TEST SETUP Universal Test Jig: This jig has a spring mechanism, which is used to hold the microstrip components to be ‘ested. It contains 6 SMA connectors to connect the various ports of DUT according to the components. Microstrip Components: 1. Low Pass Filter: It passes all the signals between zero freq, to some limit called the cut off ‘frequency andattenvates other higher frequencies. Specifications: The cut offfrea: 520.2 GHz Insertion Loss: 340.2dB Return Loss: 1540.5 dB 2. Band Pass Filter: It passes all the frequencies in the frequency band between the lower cut off frequency to the upper cut off frequency and rejects the signals of other frequencies outside this band, Specifications: ‘The center freq: 504.2 GHz Insertion Loss: 140.2 48 Return Loss: 201.048 Bandwidth: 0.5 GHz 3. Band Stop Filter: It passes all the frequencies outside the frequency band between the lower cut off frequency to the upper cutoff frequency and rejects the signals of other frequencies inside this band. Specifications: ‘Thecenterfreq: 510.2GHz Insertion Loss: 4542 dB Return Loss: 0520.28 Bandwidth: 1.0102 GHz 4, Ring Resonator: It transmits the signal atthe resonance (design) frequency only and stops the signalsof other frequencies. Specifications: Theresonance freq: $40.2GHz Insertion Loss: 4405 68 Return Loss 1520.2 Db 5. Branch Line Coupler: itis afour-port and 3-d8 directional coupler with a 90 phase difference in ‘the through and coupled outputs whereas the fourth portremainsisolated. Specifications: Operating frequency: 520.2GHz Insertion Loss (At Through port): 3+0.5 08 i 3205 d8 2005 (min) i 182248 Return Loss (Through: 252208 6. Specifications: ‘Operating frequency: 540.2GH2 Insertion Loss (At Through port): 30.5 dB Coupling: 3405 dB Isolation: '30d8(min}(at design frequency) Directivty 252248 Return Loss (Through: 254208 allel Coupled Line Coupler: It consists of two close and parallel transmission lines and the coupled powerdepends on the separation between twolines. Specifications: Operating frequency: s102GHe Insertion Loss (At Through port): 1=05 dB ir 1541.0d8 234248 Direcvity: 1228 Return Loss (Through: 204208 8. Power Divider (2) It isa three-port network, which divides the input signal into two equal output signals. Here two types of power divider are available: one is with chip resistor and another withoutit. ‘Theisolation between output portsincreases due to chip resistor, Specifications: without resistor with resistor Operating frequency: 5#0.2GHz 520.2GH2 ALO/P TLL 3405 48 32058 ACO/P ZL. 3105 48 3205 d8 Isolation 8128 302248 Return Loss 251248 352208 9. Patch Antenna (2) It aciates the microwave signal nthe space or receives the microwave signal ‘from the space. Two types of patch antennas are availabe one is quarter wave transformer fed and another oneistheinsetfed. Specifications: Transformer fed Inset fed Operating frequency: 540.2.GHe 5+026He Return Loss 131.068 821.048 10. Amplifier: it increases the level of the microwave input signal with or without any phase change at theoutput Specifications: ‘Operating frequency: 540.2 GHz Gains 5+1.0a8 Return Loss: 13248 ‘Students can perform following experimentsas well astesting of v jor V2 with resistor us Microstrip (MIC) Components: (1) Study of Low Pass Filter (2) StudyofBandPassFiler (3) Studyof Bandstop Filter (4) Study of Ring Resonator (5) Study fBranchlineCoupler (6) Study of PCL coupler (7) Study of Hybrid Ring Coupler (8) StudyofPowerdivider (9) Study of Amplifier (10)Study of MicrostripTransmissionLine (11) Patch Antenna-1 (12)Patchantenna-t Name of Component Name of Component del No, PARTI: MIC COMPONENTS.
