Thanks to our much elegant and handsome Master of Ceremonies.

Assalamualaikum and a very good morning I bid to all of my colleagues,

fellow teachers and beloved students. First and foremost, let us show our
gratitude to our Creator by saying Alhamdulillah, all praise be to the one and only
God for giving us the opportunity to gather here in this beautiful morning in this
special occasion, the opening ceremony of language month and Nilam for this
year.

Teachers and students,

As we all know, Malaysia is a multiracial country, which also makes us as a

multilingual society. We do speak Bahasa Melayu, English, Mandarin, Tamil and
we must not forget the language of the Bumiputera of Sabah and Sarawak. To add
on to that, here in our school some of the students are taking up Arabic Language
and we can also learn some Urdu from our English Teachers Assistant, Miss Nida
Syed. That shows how diversed we are as Malaysian.

Why do we learn language? Why is it so important? The purpose for people

to learn language, number 1 is for communication and secondly, to convey the
message to others. And when we are able to communicate well, as the result, we
can avoid misunderstanding or miscommunication. At the same time, positive
values can be easily transmitted as we already have better understanding of each
other. This is in line with the aim of the Ministry of Education to promote and
cultivate unity among Malaysian specifically school students regardless of races,
religions, skin colors and political backgrounds, or in short, unity in diversity. And
it is totally possible through the mastery of Bahasa Melayu as our national
language, and not to be forgotten, English as the second language.

So, in conjunction of the Language Month 2017, I really hope, from the
bottom of my heart that the students will take part in the interesting activities
that have been planned by all of the language panels, for example like essay
writing competition, writing calligraphy, quizzes and many more. Not to forget, a
lot of attractive prizes to be won!! I also hope you will take these activities as a
part of fun-learning process, apart from participating actively in the 21st Century
lesson within the normal classroom. Throughout these activities, students will
also learn about the spirit of teamwork, courtesy, patriotism, and being more
competitive in the sense of completing the task wholeheartedly within the time
given in order to become the winner. Consequently, the objective of our National
Education Philosophy, to produce students who possess holistic values can be
achieved.

Before I end my speech, I would like to congratulate the English panel and
those who are involved in making todays event a success. Plus, as every one of
you can see today, I want to set a good example to my students by delivering this
speech in English. It is not easy but it is not impossible. We often think English as
the barrier for us from moving forward but from now on, lets break the barrier
and we must think that nothing is impossible if we really want to. There is no
other way to master a language except by practicing it every day, be it speaking,
writing, reading or listening. Thats why we have NILAM and Highly Immersive
Program in our school to increase the language proficiency of the students as well
as the teachers. Most importantly, we must put in a lot of effort to achieve it,
InshaaAllah.

With that note, In the name of God The Most Gracious and The Most
Merciful, I hereby officiate the Language Month and Nilam Program launching
ceremony of SMK Raja Puan Muda Tengku Fauziah 2017 with the theme MEKAR
BAHASA MEKAR JIWA MEKAR BANGSA!!

Thank you and Assalamualaikum. Back to the Emcees.
