With a Master in Public Health and over 20 years of management experience in humanitarian
relief and development programs Mr. Omar Almajdalawi has a passion for delivering results in
complex project environments. Omar is currently pursuing a PhD in Conflict and
Development/ Ghent University Belgium.
While managing large-scale programs and grants portfolios in partnership with sub-grantee
local organizations, he has consistently achieved project and program goals in the face of
extraordinary challenges. Budget management experience includes portfolios of 15M USD
annually through a total of 17 sub-grantee partner organizations, and donor experience
includes ECHO, USAID, Danida, UN agencies, AuSAid, EC, Arab donors and SIDA,
Managing teams in difficult environments, Omar is a passionate leader with an ability bring
people together, stay motivated, and achieve results. He has more than 16 years of
experience in training development and delivery, motivation, team building and leadership,
and has managed teams as large as 72 staffs. Omar also recognized as international trainer in
many topics like accountability in humanitarian setting and sphere standards

skills span the range of development and relief sectors, including cash transfer programming,
nutrition, WASH, and sustainable development and peace-building. Omar has a unique talent

funding relationships on behalf of his organization. His project management specialties
including establishing and implementing monitoring, evaluation and learning systems,

National Project Manager/Consultant Health Sector Review This was a joint project between the
World Bank, European Commission, Italian Cooperation, WHO, and DIFID with the aim of
evaluating and reviewing the entire Palestinian Health Sector for policy reform. Main duties included:
coordinated and provided technical consultation; conducted assessments and researched duties;
networked; managed the project; monitored and reported; conducted research on centralization of the
Palestinian health system.
Consultant Human Development Strategy Main duties included: coordinated with all parties;
designed the methodology and assessed the Palestinian needs in the social sector (health, education,
poverty, labor market, social protection, women and youth) including NGOs, Governmental, and
Private Providers; analyzed the gathered information; prioritized the needs and reporting; drew up the
strategy.
networked and liaised with other NGOs and care providers to provide psychosocial support and
community awareness; developed the capacity of the Centers staff.
Oversaw program design process, including needs assessments, analysis, design, and proposal
writing, subagents awarding to local partners and evaluation and reporting.

capacity building for local key actors in advocacy and civic action; acted as Gaza Civic Forum
General Coordinator for 40 days during the coordinators absence; acted as coordinator and organizer
for the Visibility Action held in Gaza by ECHO.
