We had Immerse to experience the life of being a teacher and to give service to the teacher. It is
a challenge and new experience for me, I had to woke up very early because I came from far place, I
had manage to arrive early before time. My experience during the Immersion was a lot of fun. We had
done a good job in contributing to the success of the immersion. The things I did that contribute to the
success of the Immersion are the following: I had helped the children in doing their activity; like
turning the page needed to answer helping them understand their difficulties in answering the activity
and distributing the materials such as glue and cutted colored papers. We had lead the song and
sang with the children. I had also story tell which gives children joy. We also facilitated the games and
play with the children in which all of us had fun. In making the alphabet and calendar I had helped in
colored papers

Dr. Marl Ferenal, our President; Ms. Avic Suarez, our Principal; Mr. Paolo Reyes, our
guest speaker; the administration, faculty and staff; parents and guests; my fellow
graduates; good morning to all of you!
March 30, 2012. I think we will all agree that this day is definitely not ordinary. Today,
we acknowledge the people met, the lessons learned, the tears shed, the laughter
relished, and the memories made in our six years as elementary students. Today, we
show our teachers, our parents, and most importantly ourselves that were no longer
children. Today we show the world that we are ready to take on the next stage of our
academic life: High School.
Im very honored to stand before all of you today as the Valedictorian of Class 2012,
not only because of the awards that I have garnered but more so becauseIm part of a
truly outstanding batch - a batch that has achieved so much, a batch where
everyone is talented in different fields. With this, let me thank some of the people
who have made my achievements possible. I might not be able to mention all of you by
name, but rest assured that Im infinitely grateful to everyone who has put me on this
stage today.
I would like to thank God first and foremost. Without Him, none of these would have
been possible. I would also like to thank my parents, Atty. Manny Riguera and Atty.
Hazel Riguera. All of my achievements are not only mine, but also theirs, because
without their hard work and encouragement, I would not be standing here and
speaking to all of you today. Thank you, Dad and Mom, for letting me be, but always
under your supervision and guidance. Thank you for giving me the opportunities to
explore and to discover my full potential, not only inside but also outside the four walls
of Southville.
To all the teachers I have had in my life, thank you. All of you have contributed to
who I am today, and although I am far from perfect, I believe that Im a much
better person than the person I would have been had I not met all of you. To Ms.
Jen Gaddi and Ms. Gladys Mintu, my advisers for grades 3 and 4 respectively, at
Munich campus, thank you for guiding me while I was still adjusting to a new
environment. To Ms. Icka Santos and Mr. Xander Siose, my advisers for grades 5 and
6 respectively at the Luxembourg campus, thank you for helping me go past my
comfort zones, and giving me inspiration when I needed it most.
To all my friends, classmate or not, thank you very much. Andrea, Kelsie and Yifei,
thank you for sticking with me through thick and thin. Thank you for believing in me
even when I didnt believe in myself. Yoojung, Eggy, and Russell, thank you for
consistently reminding me that I am not perfect, and that I will never be as awesome or
as tall as you guys are. When others were all praise for me, you never failed to remind
me that I am not perfect. Kim and Maija, my two fangirl buddies, I thank you for
bringing me into the new world of K Pop. To the cast and crew of Seussical Jr., thank
you for giving me one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. It has been an
honor to get to know all of you. It was great spending three months of rehearsal and
recording hours with the cast who were from different levels in Southville, from
preschool to college. To our Seussical director, Ms. Icka Santos, her sister Ms.
Kookee and her mother Ms. Lena Santos, thank you. I learned not only the rudiments
of acting. I further learned the essence of my sections name - PERSEVERANCE. And
to the rest of my classmates and friends, thank you for making my four-year stay at
Southville a memorable one.
I can still remember the days when I was a new student at Southville. That was when I
was in grade three. As a new student I was on academic and disciplinary probation,
which meant that if I failed in any subject, I would be asked to leave.Back then, all I
wanted was to stay in Southville. But as I slowly adjusted to my new
environment, I realized that I wanted to aim higher. I couldnt aim for just a green
certificate, or a gold medal. I wanted to be the valedictorian.
Henry Ford said that obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your
eyes off your goal. To my mentors and friends, thank you so much to all of you
for straightening my perspective when I fearfully glanced to the side. You have
made me realize that the only true limits are those that we impose upon
ourselves.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said: Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead,
where there is no path and leave a trail. My batch mates, when we walk out of Gym 1
today with our diplomas in hand, we will no longer be elementary students. As soon as
the summer ends we are going to have to take on heavier responsibilities, learn new
lessons, and reach for more goals.
Let us never allow the worlds definition of what is possible keep us from
achieving what we want to achieve. Let us not only dream big, let us dream
grandly. Let us not only reach for the mountaintop, let us reach for the stars.
My Salutatorian Speech
May 31, 2013 at 9:18pm
This is for those that missed my graduation today."Good evening parents, students,
school staff, and friends. Hi, Mom!
I would like to thank everybody attending tonight, and indeed, it's a very special night.
Everybody here has made such a great impact to each of these seniors sitting other
there, including myself. Without every one of you, I don't know what would become of
us.
Today has to be one of the most bittersweet moments to ever happen to me. As I was
writing my speech down, so many thoughts ran through my head. Wow, I can't believe
I'm finally graduating, however at the same time, I can't believe that I'm about to
graduate. For a long time, graduation was a day so far into the future that I didn't need
to think about it that much. The year 2013 seem like a year so far away, I thought it
was going to take forever to reach. As each day went by and that distant day slowly
came, it started to hit me more and more. Time started to move faster and that distant
day didn't seem so far anymore. When I woke up this morning, I said something I never
thought I was going to say for a very long time: I'm going to graduate today. I never
have been so happy and so sad in my entire life. I'm going to get my diploma and walk
out of these Guthrie halls as a graduate, and so are my fellow classmates Quincy,
Krista, and Ashley. And when we do, we'll look back at all the good and bad times we
had with each other.
When I walked into this school when I was in kindergarten, it was probably one of the
scariest moments of my life. I have to be away from my mom and be stuck with a
bunch of people I didn't know. I didn't know what to do. I learn that school was way
different than being at home. I didn't know you can't just pull your pants down and start
peeing at the playground. But then, I figured it out. I started to make new friends, loved
the teachers, but never did like nap time. How, I wish I had nap time in high school.
Then first grade came along, and I saw Krista for the first time. We instantly became
friends. I don't think it lasted very long though. Krista...sorry that I broke your arm. Can
you move it? Show us, Krista. But it's not broken anymore! and we remained friends.
Quincy came to our school when I was in 4th grade. Quincy, I'm sorry that I was such a
jerk to you. In elementary, it was cool to pick on the new kids so I just went along and
picked on her. It's funny...I never thought Quincy and I would be really close friends.
We have made so many memories together that I'll never forget. Then Ashley came
along in the 8th grade. Probably one of the nicest girls that came to school here. Even
thought she hasn't been in Guthrie for a very long time like Krista and Quincy, she
made such a huge impact in my life and I'm glad to call her my friend. The three of you
at the end of the night will receive the diplomas that y'all have been waiting for. These
four years in high school has been a very successful one for all of us. When we leave
tonight, I have no doubt in my mind that y'all will make a difference in the world we live
in today. We will part our ways, but we will forever stay in our hearts. I love y'all guys.
Thank you so much for being the best classmates I could ever ask for. I wouldn't trade
y'all for anybody else.
I can't just thank my classmates though. I would like to thank my family, teachers,
coaches, and other that contributed to my life. I wish I could thank every person, but
that would be a very long list, so I would like to name a few. Mr. Ballard has been my
science teacher since I was in 7th grade, and who knew that I would enjoy every day of
class with him. He was also my UIL Science coach, and because of him, I advanced to
regionals for two years and got first place in District this year. All of our classmates
would agree that we shared so many moments with him. Thank you, Mr. Ballard. I'm
going to miss you.
Coach Chisum has been my basketball coach from 8th grade to my junior year of high
school. He's also been my math teacher since my freshman year. He has always
pushed me to do my best in everything I do, on and off the basketball court and school,
and I really appreciate that. Without you, I seriously believe I wouldn't be the same
person today. Thank you so much, Coach.
Mom, Dad, Kim, Tito, all of y'all have seen the best and the worst of me. I try to be the
best son for my Mom and Dad and the best brother for my older sister and my younger
brother. My mom and dad are my heroes. My brother and sister are my best friends. I
can't imagine what it would be like if you were never part of my life. I love all of y'all
very much, and I'm going to miss all of you when I go off to college. Thank you for
always being there for me and giving me so much to make me who I am today.
I would like to end my speech with lines from the song Good Riddance by the band
Green Day.
'Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road, time grabs you by the wrist, directs you
where to go, so make the best of this test, and don't ask why. It's not a question, but a
lesson learned in time, It's something unpredictable but in the end is right, I hope you
had the time of your life.'
Seniors, we faced many challeges for the first 18 years of our lives. However, there is
more to come, and let's not be afraid when we go off to the real world. Yes, there will
be challenges that would seem impossible, but never ask God why is this happening to
me. We will never have a straight answer when you ask, but we are suppose to find
out as we go through life. We have made so many memories here in Guthrie, some
good and some bad. We need to hold on to our memories, because that will get us
through anything. We can't always control everything that happens to us. Sometimes,
we won't like what challenges we will face in the future. However, it was meant to be.
Because life is something unpredictable, but in the end will be right. When it's over, I
hope you had the time of your life.
Again, on the behalf of the Guthrie Class of 2013, thank you very much to all the
families, friends, teachers, coaches, and others that I have missed for giving so much
for us to be here today and allowing me to speak to all of you this evening.
Congratulations Class of 2013. I wish you all the best of luck. I know that all of you will
lead by example and live life to your fullest extent. I love y'all very much and I'm going
to miss y'all. When we walk out of these Guthrie halls as graduates, let's look back at
all the good times we had with each other and laugh and smile and then face the
future.
Thank you."

"Do I Make You Proud" Is all I need to know,
[Verse Two:]
"See You Again"
I guess Ive learned
(feat. Charlie Puth)
To question is to grow,
Look at things different, see the bigger And what's small turn to a friendship
picture
A friendship turn to a bond
Those were the days
And that bond will never be broken
Hard work forever pays
The love will never get lost (and the love
Now I see you in a better place (see you will never get lost)
in a better place)
And when brotherhood come first
Uh
Then the line will never be crossed
How can we not talk about family when
family's all that we got? Established it on our own
When that line had to be drawn It's been a long day without you, my
friend
And that line is what we reach
And I'll tell you all about it when I see
So remember me when I'm gone you again
(remember me when I'm gone)
We've come a long way from where we
began
How can we not talk about family when Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see
family's all that we got? you again
Everything I went through you were When I see you again
standing there by my side
(Uh)
(Uh)
(Wooooh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
