Himitsu ~Kuro no Chikai~

1 INT. CHURCH-DAY
Church bells echo from around. Peaceful, yet happy, everyone
is gathered all in white. All heads are turned towards the
aisle, where they await the star of this event, ALICIA, to
walk down with all the glamour and grace any woman can ever
garner from the skies.
ERIS (V.O.)
No doubt every woman in their life
has at least for once, dreamed of
the day that theyd walk down the
isle in beautiful white and cream,
all eyes on her, seeing the man of
her dreams wait for her dreamily at
the end.

She, too, has an astounding smile plastered on her face, too

happy to care about anything else except the man in white,
waiting for her at the end, and yet, the man in question,
his identity, or face for that matter, is quite a blur. An
unknown presence.

ERIS (V.O.) (CONTD)

Quite a feat it is, for anyone to
live their life and reach this
moment of pure bliss and happiness.
At this moment, one could say that
their life is complete. That
finally, their story alone,
individually, will finally end, and
start anew with the person they vow
to marry.

She finally reaches the end, and the groom in question

extends his loving hand towards her, and they settled in
front of the priest, in front of God, and in front of the
world.
ERIS (V.O.) (CONTD)
This is how my story will end, and
how ours will start.
END SCENE
2 EXT. HEAVEN-DAWN

The heavens are chirping with the sounds of morality,

kindness, and everything nice. The place is filled with
clouds and shimmered with gold, warmth an emotion it spreads
across bounds.
 2.

With her harp and sweet voice, 2 ANGELS are flying all
around, spreading goodness and rectitude to everything they
deems necessary of feeling good.
Beside her, sits the MOTHER OF HEAVEN, conveniently named
MARIA instead of Mary for copyright issues, weaving her own
sort of righteousness. Yet, contrary to her motherly appeal
and warmth, her face is plastered serious. The crinkles her
eyes make when she smiles, gone. She stares almost
malevolently, as if awaiting something, someone.

(Insert song: Gospel Truth by Angels)

ENTER. Another pair of ANGELS with strict faces march in the
room with another angel, ERIS, chained tight. Her eyes had a
rebellious flare, were it not for the remaining respect she
had of the Mother she would have spit ludicrously in front
of her already.
ANGEL 1
Speak of your purpose for being
here.

ANGEL 2
I believe they have caught our
rouge angel.
ANGEL 3
Twas a relief to find her off her
guard.
ANGEL 4
She didnt even put up a fight.

Eris forcefully breaks off their grasps and points at them,

accusingly.
ERIS
(Angry and hurt)
If I had known that my siblings
would be capable of such treachery,
I would have never turned my backs
on any of you!
Mother stands and approaches Eris, who has her back turned
on her as she continues to delve on the betrayal she feels.

ERIS (CONTD)
And you call yourselves servants of
the Almighty One! Nothing in the
text said anything about
back-staYounging anyone, let alone
their own blood!
 3.

Eris is shut when she feels the Mothers hand on her

shoulder, firm, and nonetheless, malicious.

MOTHER
And you dare point out the
wrong-doing of those not beneath
you, in full denial of the sin you
yourself committed?

Eris is shook and stands back, eyes transitioning from full

of hate to self-pity.
ERIS
My Lady, of course not! However I
do believe that what I did- not
once was it ever claimed to be a
sin in any-
MOTHER
Silence!

Everybody is frozen where they stood, intimidated, afraid.

MOTHER (CONTD)
Eris, my dear. Such an act was
never written to be unforgivable
anywhere. Anyone with common sense
would know at once that this act is
a sin too horrid to even mention.
ERIS
But it did no one harm!

MOTHER
(Stern)
Enough!
The stern hold of her voice once more, shook everyone
silent.
MOTHER (CONTD)
Is this your way of questioning how
the Father made you into being? Are
you saying He is at fault?

ERIS
No! I simply meant-
MOTHER
Eris, by the power vested in me, I
strip you of your title as Cherub,
and vanquish you down to earth for
a sin even more abhorrent than
treason.

Suddenly, the two angels take a hold of Eris arms once

more.
MOTHER (CONTD)
She shall be banished to the world
of humans, where she will wander
without any recollection of who she
was.
Eris continues to struggle, begging for mercy.

ERIS
Please! How may I redeem myself?
Mother takes one last glance at her, before embracing her
tight. The other angels let go of her, and Eris looks
lifeless, in shock.
MOTHER
Ego Semper Amabo Te.
Then the Mother turns back and walks away, leaving an Eris
who continues to implore for mercy as she is dragged away by
the other two angels.
END SCENE
3 EXT. STREETS-DUSK

The streets are silent as everyone with life took refuge in

their own houses, only to reveal themselves once the sun
peeks its glowing rays once more in the horizon.
Yet in this otherwise quaint darkness, a petite figure clad
in white walks aimlessly among the streets, not knowing
which direction to head to.
She removes the clothing covering her face and reveals
herself as Eris. The cloth remains on her shoulders as she
tries to wipe her worn face. She looks confused.

ERIS
Where am I?
She stands still, taking note of her surroundings,

ERIS (CONTD)
Who am I?
She takes the white clothing into hand and observes it,
checking if there was any clue of her identity in it. There,
it had a picture of wings and name she thought belonged to
her and a title.

ERIS (CONTD) (CONTD)

Eris. Cherub of the English Lands.
(pause)
Cherub. Does this mean angel? Am I
Eris, the cherub? Am I an angel?

She stands up too quickly and suddenly, pain starts

resounding in her body, like a banging drum. She kneels in
pain and touches the cloth, when suddenly, the pain stops.
ERIS (CONTD) (CONTD)
AH!
She stands up with the cloth in her hand, eyes still full of
questions, when she intentionally drops the piece of cloth,
and her entire being is just screaming with pain.

ERIS (CONTD) (CONTD)

Why?!
Her body in so much torture, she slowly reaches for the
cloth and drapes it around her body, the low vibrations of
suffering simmering down until there is none. She repeats
this at least twice, until she is sure that somehow, this
piece of cloth is part of her, and that she would most
probably die when it stays too long away from her. She wraps
it around her shoulders, making sure it doesnt stray away
from her.

Without warning, a girl, ALICIA, suddenly appears, shouting.

ALICIA
Hello? I heard someone scream! Is
someone in pain?

The girl in question spots Eris, who still looks as confused

and shocked from moments ago. She approaches our distraught
angel, worry written all over her face.
ALICIA (CONTD)
My dear, were you the one screaming
a while ago? Is there an ache in
your body?
Eris is quiet, shook by how this human approached her easily
without fear of her being some sort of malevolent person.

ALICIA (CONTD) (CONTD)

Are you hurt?
ERIS
Oh, why. I believe not.

ALICIA
Then why did you scream?
ERIS
Ah, some sharp pains here and
there, but Im in tip-top shape.

ALICIA
(sighs)
What a relief. Whats your name? My
parents call me Alicia.

ERIS
Alicia. What a lovely name.
ALICIA
Thank you. And you?

Eris hesitates. She cant remember anything, and the only

information she has about herself are the markings found on
her cloth. Should she tell this seemingly innocent lady that
she suspects herself of being an angel?

She decides against it.

ERIS
Eris. Delightful to meet you.
ALICIA
Pleasure.
They share a handshake before Alicia starts observing Eris
from head-to-toe, leaving Eris quite uncomfortable.
ERIS
(confused)
Uhm?
ALICIA
You look like you dont have a
place to stay. Are you new in our
quaint town?
ERIS
I believe so.

ALICIA
Believe so? Peculiar. You dont
sound so sure. Might I offer you
some shelter then? For the time
being.
 7.

Eris thought about how convenient this was, and whether this
was going to come back at her at some point, but she
disregarded it and decided to take the offer.
ERIS
That would be lovely. I highly
appreciate your offer.
ALICIA
Splendid! Off we go to our humble
home then?

Alicia takes hold of Eris hand and drags her off to the
darkness of night.
END SCENE

4 INT. ALICIAS HOME-NIGHT

They finally reach her home and enter it silently. The warm
ambiance of the house takes Eris aback, and she is unsure
whether she should step in or not. Alicia extends her arm to
her.

ALICIA
Dont be shy. Please enter.
Once inside, Eris immediately looks for a sit and asks
permission if she can, which Alicia replies to with a yes.

The house is huge.

ERIS
Its...a lovely home.

ALICIA
Thank you. You make it sound like
youve never had a home before. But
judging from your clothing, Id say
otherwise. You look rather
charming.
Eris doesnt know how to respond, so she just smiles.
ALICIA (CONTD)
However, I must say. That shawl
looks rather shaYoungy and old.
Shant you take it off?
Alicia reaches out for the cloth, but Eris slaps her hand
away to quickly and roughly.

ERIS
Dont touch it!
ALICIA
(shocked)
Oh, Im sorry.

ERIS
(Apologetic)
Oh, dear. No. I should be sorry.
That was quite...rude of me. But,
please, heed my request and stay
clear of it. It makes me feel
comfortable.
ALICIA
(smiling)
If you say so. Tell me when you
want it washed.
Alicia starts chuckling but stops when she notices a faint
trickle of blood on her hand. She exclaims.

ALICIA (CONTD)
(shocked)
Blood!
She looks at Eris, who seemed really confused, and spots a
gashing wound on her arm. How odd for Eris to not have
noticed it.
ALICIA (CONTD) (CONTD)
(panicking)
Youre bleeding!

ERIS
I am?
She looks to where Alicia is pointing and sees a foreign red
substance flow down her arm slowly, and she feels a slight
pain, not as much as the pain she felt when she didnt touch
the cloth, but it was there.
ERIS (CONTD)
I guess Im not really one for
blood?

ALICIA
It looks awful! We need a doctor
immediately!
Alicia starts walking around the room, panicking. Where
could she ever find a doctor in this time of night?
 9.

Suddenly, a knock is heard on the door. She opens the door

and there enters AUGUSTUS, a dashing young man who was
conveniently, a doctor.
ALICIA (CONTD)
Augustus! How convenient of you to
show up just when I needed you!
AUGUSTUS
(disappointed)
I always show up milady. But it
seems you dont need me most of the
time.
ALICIA
Enough dilly-dally! Check this
young ladys arm! It looks
horrible!
Alicia points at Eris, and Augustus immediately walks
towards her, ready to do his job. Without asking for
permission, he grabs Eris arm gently and checks the wound.

ALICIA (CONTD)
How is it?
AUGUSTUS
Could be worse. The abrasion didnt
take away a lot of skin but these
bruises dont seem pretty.
ALICIA
What can you do about it?
AUGUSTUS
The most I can do is disinfect it
and wrap it in clean bandage.
(looks at Eris)
And to you, avoid too much pressure
on this arm, will you?

ERIS
I will. Thank you sir.
Augustus then proceeds to wrap Eris arm gently when someone
knocks at the door. Heads turn, and they see the PARENTS OF
ALICIA, big smiles all over their thin lips.
ALICIA
Mother! Father!
Alicia hugs her parents.
 10.

ALICIA (CONTD)
Welcome home.

FATHER
I didnt know home smelled like
wine. Did your friend Augustus
bring you some liquor?
AUGUSTUS
I believe youre referring to the
antiseptic, sire.
MOTHER
Oh, dear. Did someone get hurt?

Mother notices Eris, sitting silently.

MOTHER (CONTD)
Who is this charming lady? Is she
your associate, Augustus?

Everyone chuckles awkwardly.

AUGUSTUS
Dear no, madame. I believe youve
known me long enough to know that I
only wish to associate myself with
your bewitching daughter.
Augustus spreads his arms in an attempt to embrace Alicia,
she pushes his body away, but smiles to hide how
uncomfortable the gesture made her feel.

ALICIA
Augustus, you tease. Her name is
Eris, mother. I hope you do not
mind me bringing her to our humble
abode.

MOTHER
Of course not! Long as she does not
object to what we will announce.
ALICIA
Announce?
The parents move away with wide smiles.
BOTH PARENTS
Youre getting married!

Everyone is silent, and the parents are left in an awkward

position.
 11.

ALICIA
Im sorry, could you repeat that?
FATHER
Dont act deaf child, we know full
well you heard that right. Youre
getting married!
ALICIA
Married? To whom?

MOTHER
Why, your handsome companion,
Augustus.
Alicia looked at Augustus, betrayed.

ALICIA
You are in on this?
AUGUSTUS
I may or may not, have asked your
parents for your hand.

ALICIA
Asked my parents? Youre supposed
to ask me about this!
And without waiting for anyone else to speak, Alicia storms
away from everyone else. An air of awkwardness is left
adrift as Eris tries to figure out whether she should follow
Alicia or sit still.
MOTHER
That was awkward.

FATHER
I told you she wouldnt like it.
MOTHER
We can talk about this again
tomorrow. Augustus, Im sorry for
the commotion.
AUGUSTUS
Its okay madame. It might take her
more time to register this event.
MOTHER
Youre such an understanding young
man, Augustus. My daughter would be
lucky to have you as her husband.
 12.

AUGUSTUS
Likewise, I believe I would be
lucky to have her as my own as
well. I best leave now and prepare
myself for courting.

Augustus EXITS, followed by the parents.

END SCENE
5 EXT. STREETS-NIGHT

Yet, beneath that calm smile, lies an underlying anger

towards the reaction his enthusiasm garnered from his
ever-beloved Alicia. Augustus stomps his feet as he walks
home, when he is sure not a single soul would hear him
freak.

AUGUSTUS
Just how foolish is she to be
repulsed by that? Its a blessing
that I initiated such a pact!

Suddenly, from behind, a dark SHADOW steadily makes its way

to the ranting Augustus, along with two other smaller
fingers.
AUGUSTUS (CONTD)
Ive been her friend since she can
remember. And did I leave her? Not
ever! Ive been with her through
every tear, every laughter, seen
her fears.

The shadows sit silently, eagerly listening to Augustus.

AUGUSTUS (CONTD) (CONTD)
What on earth can I do to prove my
love to be true?

Augustus turns around once he hears the slow clapping of an

unknown man behind him. He is in shock, and mostly crept
out.
AUGUSTUS (CONTD) (CONTD)
Who are you?

SHADOW
Splendid performance young man. I
was not aware such being focused on
logic and analytic would be so
profound in the arts of poetry.

AUGUSTUS
Did you hear all of that?
SHADOW
And I am with all honesty,
astonished by the amount of beauty
your pain is capable of conveying.
SHADOW 2
It is rare for my master to be
impressed by anyone!

SHADOW
What she said.
AUGUSTUS
Your words of flattery seem a bit
flirtatious, but nevertheless, I
shall thank you.
SHADOW
Would you care to educate me with
what is nagging at your brain?

Augustus remains quiet, unsure whether he should open up to

such a stranger.
SHADOW 2
Would knowing masters name ease
your doubt?
AUGUSTUS
Perhaps, it may.
The shadowy figure approaches Augustus, a hand stretched out
for a shake, his body bending politely.
SHADOW 2
Masters name is Nathan, dear sir.
NATHAN/THANATOS
I am supposed to introduce myself
you stupid wench.
AUGUSTUS
I cant say I feel the same way.
But since you already introduced
yourself, I might as well. My name
is Augustus.
NATHAN/THANATOS
Can I call you August?

AUGUSTUS
No.
NATHAN/THANATOS
So, August. May I know whats
bothering you?

AUGUSTUS
There is this woman.
SHADOW 2
Aha! The root of all evil!
AUGUSTUS
Such blasphemy! You are a woman!
NATHAN/THANATOS
And yet for all the pain you feel,
she is the only explanation.
AUGUSTUS
But she is also my star, my reason
to smile.

NATHAN/THANATOS
But why is there suffering in your
voice?
AUGUSTUS
I fear that she may not return my
Feelings.
Nathan/Thanatos pats Augustus on the shoulder.

NATHAN/THANATOS
Such is inevitable in this game of
life, my friend.
Augustus immediately shrugs off the gesture.

AUGUSTUS
(disgusted)
I didnt know we were friends.
NATHAN/THANATOS
(exclaim)
But that shouldnt be the case! Any
woman would swoon over a man like
you.
 15.

SHADOW 2
Really sir? I dont think he is-
NATHAN/THANATOS
(butts in)
Must I give you a new set of eyes
for you to clearly see the
magnificence that is August?
AUGUSTUS
I dont recall allowing you to call
me August.
Nathan/Thanatos movements get erratic as he continues to
shower Augustus with compliments.
NATHAN/THANATOS
(proud)
A man as young and successful as
you should be lavished with women
begging for you to take their hand.
AUGUSTUS
(longing)
But I wish for her and her alone.
NATHAN/THANATOS
Which makes you even more special!
A man of dedication and loyalty and
faithfulness! You are a full
package.
And he claps his hands to make a point.
SHADOW 2
So are you, master.
NATHAN/THANATOS
(flattered)
I know, I know. Dont keep
reminding me.
(Insert song: Gaston by Shadow 2, Nathan, and Augustus)
AUGUSTUS
But even if you claim me to be
nothing but amazing, it cannot
erase the fact she may not think of
me the same way.
NATHAN/THANATOS
It seems that you are way deep into
this predicament you have found

NATHAN/THANATOS (CONTD)
yourself in. What you need is a
friend.
Augustus opens his mouth to disagree.

SHADOW 2
Sir, are you offering yourself to
be his friend?
AUGUSTUS
(pissed)
I dont need the lot of you to
become my acquaintance.
NATHAN/THANATOS
Cant you hear the pain in his
voice? Our poor friend has been
lonely for so long, it seems that
he has fully forgotten how to earn
a kinship with a complete stranger.
AUGUSTUS
Stranger danger!
NATHAN/THANATOS
Oh, well, my dear August. I shall
become your ally, and be a shoulder
for you to lean on!
Nathan/Thanatos stretches out his arm for a handshake, to
which Augustus awkwardly hesitates whether to return it or
not, to which he freezes.

SHADOW 2
Please, young man. Master here
turns ill and uneasy at the
situation of an uncomfortable
exchange of clasping gestures.

AUGUSTUS
You mean he is allergic to awkward
handshakes?
To which Shadow 2 responds with.

SHADOW 2
Just shake his hand!
And the 2 of them share an awkward handshake.
 17.

NATHAN/THANATOS
Off to the marsh pit at once! I
shall meet you soon August. I will
always come when you call.
AUGUSTUS
I dont think I will sink that low.
NATHAN/THANATOS
(chuckling)
You might shock yourself.
The 3 characters exit.
END SCENE

6 INT. ALICIAS HOME-MORNING

Quaint was the sound that morning resounded when Eris wakes
up peacefully. She almost forgets where she was, until she
remembers that she actually has nothing to remember and
forget.
She stands up, realizing that she is sleeping on a sofa with
the same piece of clothing wrapped around her shoulders.
Alicia enters the scene.

ALICIA
Oh, youre awake. I hope you had a
good night sleep.
ERIS
As good as it can get. Thank you
for your kindness.
Eris stands up, ready to leave when Alicia grabs her injured
arm. Eris retorts in pain.

ALICIA
Oh, dear! I forgot. Im terribly
sorry!
ERIS
(smiling)
Its no trouble.
ALICIA
Would you like some coffee?

ERIS
(smiling)
That would be lovely.
 18.

ALICIA
Sugar?
ERIS
(still smiling)
The same amount that you want.

ALICIA
Its 3 then.
After making the coffee, she gives it to Eris.

ERIS
Thank you.
ALICIA
(questioning)
Are you leaving?
Eris looks confused. Isnt that what shes supposed to do?
ERIS
Arent I supposed to?

ALICIA
But, youre injured!
ERIS
Tis but a shallow scratch.

ALICIA
Do you even have a place to stay?
Eris remains silent, not knowing what to answer.

ALICIA (CONTD)
You dont, dont you? Why are you
even in this town?
Eris is still quiet, still has no idea what to answer.

ALICIA (CONTD) (CONTD)

Hey!
ERIS
I dont know.

ALICIA
Dont know?
ERIS
I cant remember anything.
 19.

ALICIA
Really?
Eris remains quiet, signifying her agreement.
ALICIA (CONTD)
(shocked)
You poor thing! All the more reason
for you to stay here! With no place
to go, and not knowing what to
find, who knows what sort of
dangers youll be getting yourself
into out there? Alone!
ERIS
But I wouldnt want to intrude much
longer. Youve given me enough. I
dont have anything to repay you
with.
ALICIA
Then give back to me what I gave
you by staying and being my friend.
It gets awfully lonely here often.
I could use someone to talk to.
ERIS
I do not think someone as obscure
and oblivious as I would be a
suitable companion for such a
delightful young lady as you.
Alicia laughs at the remarks and praises.
ALICIA
You speak like an old man!
ERIS
Believe me, that is not my
intention.

ALICIA
Really, stay as long as you must.
The least I can do is to help you
regain a memory of yours. It would
feel much lighter on my conscience.

Eris thinks about it for a moment, and nods with a smile.

ERIS
Stay I shall.
 20.

ALICIA
Wonderful! I finally have someone
of my age to talk to.
Suddenly, the mother and father of Alicia enters the scene.

MOTHER
Alicia darling!
However, Alicia scowls.

ALICIA
(sass)
Good morning mother.
MOTHER
By God, dont talk to me with such
a repugnant face. Youre daughter
is being naughty, my dear.
FATHER
I believe she is going through a
phase. Shell get over it.

To which Eris violently retorts.

ALICIA
(angry)
You can shove your delusive
statements high up your buttocks!
FATHER
Alicia! Watch your language in
front of your mother! We did not
raise you to be like that.

MOTHER
Well, technically, it was I who
raised her solo, but you can get
some credit as well.

The two parents notice Eris who is caught between all that
conflict uncomfortably.
MOTHER (CONTD)
Dearie, Eris, right? Would you mind
scurrying away for a bit? We need
to have a heart to heart talk with
our daughter here.
ALICIA
(disgusted)

(MORE)

ALICIA (CONTD)
Oh, so now youre treating Eris
like a common maid? How revolting
of you mother.

MOTHER
Stop taking what I say out of
context!
The father himself approaches Eris gently.

FATHER
Child, could you please excuse
yourself? You seem rather
uncomfortable with the situation,
and we wouldnt want you to be at
unease.
Eris looks at Alicia, who seems like she wants to beg her to
stay, but Alicia nods instead.
ERIS
Then I shall leave you to your
privacy, dear sir.
FATHER
Excellent.

Eris exits the scene. The 3 continue to argue.

MOTHER
Honestly Alicia. I dont understand
why you are getting so frustrated
over this. Most girls get married
at 12 already.
ALICIA
(pointing at her mother)
All youre doing is marrying me off
to Augustus because hes a rich
doctor!
The mother puts down Alicias accusing hand.
MOTHER
Dont you dare point at me child.
Were only doing whats best for
you.
ALICIA
I didnt know that selling me off
to a man I barely know is whats
best for me.

FATHER
But youve known Augustus for
years.
MOTHER
Dearie, we know you cant last out
there in the world long without a
man to guide you. Augustus is
perfect! Hes a gentleman, wealthy,
and a doctor. Do you know how
out-standing doctors are?

ALICIA
Whos to say I cant last alone?
MOTHER
Well, lets look at the facts. Miss
Hempshire across the road is having
a hard time living on her 50
shellings a day.
FATHER
Faustine two blocks away is barely
getting any change from her
singing.
MOTHER
Miss Audelle is working as our
alarm clock!

FATHER
Do you know what they have in
common?

BOTH PARENTS
Theyre single ladies.
(Insert song: Mother Knows Best by Mother and Father)
MOTHER
If you want to have food on your
table every night, you might as
well marry someone who can provide
the money for the food!
ALICIA
(disappoint)
Youre all too gender-biased.
FATHER
We only wish for your survival,
child. Now, your mother and I must
leave.

The parents exit the scene first. Alicia goes next.

Suddenly, Eris comes from behind. She actually heard the
entire thing.
ERIS
How unfair of them. I must do
something for Alicia.s
END SCENE
7 EXT. HELL-???

In a moment she was at Alicias house, but in a single

blink, Eris found herself in a world different...in a
terrifying way. She feels as if her face would melt at any
time. The place seemed so barren, empty, but screams of pain
and shrieks of torture were heard resounding everywhere.

ERIS
Is this hell?
SHADOW 3
Greetings!

A hostile voice hisses. Eris turns around to see an odd

looking humanoid creature, blemished with horns and a fiery
color. It was accompanied with another one of its own.
SHADOW 4
It seems weve caught another stray
angel in our spire.
The two were cackling horribly, like they just made the best
joke.

ERIS
How do you even know Im an angel?
SHADOW 3
Youre either a chicken or an angel
with those wings strapped on your
back.
SHADOW 4
Ha! Chicken! Bok bok!

They continue jeering at her, imitating the sounds of a

chicken.
ERIS
How can I get out of here?
 24.

SHADOW 3
Get out of here? Why would you want

Suddenly, 2 more of the same humanoids appeared. They looked
much more serious.

hell waiting!

Master Lucifer is awaiting the
visit of this fallen angel.
Two of them suddenly grab her arms forcefully and they drag
her some place as she continues to trash around, telling
them to let her go.
SHADOW 5
Shut up you twat. Lucifer doesnt
appreciate nasty brats like you!

ERIS
Let go of me!
Once they arrived, Eris immediately noticed the two figures,
LUCIFER and LUCY, lavishing in luxury and gold, enjoying
their own company. They didnt even notice the 5 of them
enter the area. One of them clears their throat.
SHADOW 5
Ahem.

They still didnt move.

SHADOW 5 (CONTD)
Sir!
The moment he says sir, LUCIFER stands up, thrashing around,
obviously pissed.
LUCIFER
I heard you the first time alright.
I heard you the first time!

Sorry sir. You seemed really
distracted.

LUCIFER
What do you want to show me?
SHADOW 3 AND 4
This angel sir.

LUCIFER

LUCY
Its that scum of an angel Luci.

Why does everybody know who I am

LUCY
Welcome to hell.
LUCIFER
I dont think thats quite
welcoming.
ERIS
(confused)
But Im an angel. Arent I supposed
to be in heaven?
LUCY
Dear sister, hell presents itself
to anyone that looks for it.

They cackle at their joke.

LUCY
Is there a problem nagging at your

Eris is silent, unsure whether she should answer the

question of the impending king of hell.
LUCY (CONTD)
Perhaps, a certain problem with a
female human who you feel indebted
to?
ERIS
(shocked)
How did you know?

LUCY
We have eyes everywhere. You might
as well tell us now, or forever
hold your peace.
ERIS
Its Alicia. Shes stuck in a deal
she wants nothing of.
LUCY

LUCIFER
Let me speak love.
Everybody remains silent as he fixes himself up.

LUCIFER (CONTD)
What deal?
ERIS
She is to be wed with a man she
thinks nothing of. Apparently her
parents think she cant raise
herself alone.
LUCIFER
And what do you want to do about
it?

Eris becomes silent once more, not really knowing what she
actually wants to do.

ERIS
I want to save her.
LUCY
How do you propose to do that?

ERIS
I believe that her parents wish for
her to be wed with a man successful
enough to keep her alive. She feels
oppressed.

LUCY
And?
ERIS
I wish to be the man to do so.

And they all start laughing again.

ERIS (CONTD)
Whats wrong with what I said?

LUCY
Its so hypocritical! You just said
she felt oppressed getting
forcefully wed to a man because
hes successful!

LUCIFER
Perhaps its your own selfish urges
of making her yours?
ERIS
What? No!

They all remain silent, awaiting for an answer that will

drop their jaws.

Eris is now EROS, and the demons cackle out of the scene,
along with EROS.

8 INT. ALICIAS HOME-DUSK

Alicia is at home reading a book, waiting for Eris to come
back from wherever she went to, when she hears a knock on
the door. She stands up and walks, when the person on the
other side knocks again. She assumes it was Eris.

ALICIA
Be patient Eris!
She opens the door to find that it wasnt Eris. It was a man
of her age, EROS, with subtle and warm features. She
realized she was staring too much.
ALICIA (CONTD)
(distracted)
Uhm, may I help you?

EROS
I certainly hope so. Im looking
for a young woman named Eris. Have
you seen her?

ALICIA
(still distracted)
I believe I have. Are you an
acquaintance?
EROS
Yes, Im Eros. A friend of hers
from our old country of...
Eros realizes that he doesnt know any of the places in this
area.

EROS (CONTD)
...Deutschland.
ALICIA
Deutschland? Ive never heard of a
country of that name.

EROS
Thats because you call it Germany
often.
Alicia nods skeptically.

EROS (CONTD)
Is she in there?
ALICIA
How do I know you arent lying?
EROS
You wont. Eris doesnt remember
anything so she cant really assure
you that she remembers me.

Alicia gasps.
EROS (CONTD)
I do believe it was quite
irresponsible of me to leave her
alone. She wandered off
immediately.
Alicia remains silent, trying to decide whether this man was
trust-worthy or not.

EROS (CONTD) (CONTD)

Is she in there?
Alicia decides to take her chances and let him entire.
ALICIA
She isnt but shell come back soon
enough.
EROS
May I wait for her inside?

ALICIA
As long as you dont wreak havoc.
Eros enters the room and sits on the sofa, smiling while
Alicia paces awkwardly in the room. She doesnt know how to
treat this person.
ALICIA (CONTD)
Would you like a cup of coffee?
EROS
That would be wonderful.
ALICIA
Would you like some sugar?
EROS
Please. As much as you like yours.
ALICIA
(chuckling)
Three it is. You sound so much like
Eris.

EROS
Kindred spirits think likewise,
which is most probably why Eris
seems attuned to you.

ALICIA
Seems? What are you getting at?
EROS
Why, anyone lost would be drawn to
such a soul as yours. Affectionate
and thoughtful.
ALICIA
You flatter me. Such words arent
suitable for someone like me.

EROS
Of course. No certain amount of
words are capable of expressing the
wonders of an independent,
strong-willed and kind-hearted
woman such as yourself.
ALICIA
Oh, dear. Thats...so sweet.
Alicia is obviously flattered, her ears beet red.

EROS
Perhaps Eris amnesia has its own
advantages, leading me to such a
wonderful woman.

ALICIA
Please stop, youre making my blood
rush to my cheeks more than it
should.
EROS
And yet I dont know your name. Can
I just call you beautiful?
ALICIA
Please! Alicia. That will just make
me uncomfortable.

EROS
Alicia. It suits you.
Suddenly, Eros body convulses, and his body heats up hotter
than a kettle.
EROS (CONTD)
Ah, excuse me. Im afraid I have to
leave.

ALICIA
(disappointed)
Leave? I mean, why so quickly?
EROS
I remembered that I had to be back
at the tavern I was staying in. I
have...
Eros wonders how he can make himself sound successful.

(stuttering)
...3 patients waiting for me to
give them their prescribed
medicine.

ALICIA
Medicine? Are you a doctor?
He can feel his body burn hotter and hotter as he tries to
stop making his quivering obvious. Immediately, he runs for
the door, panicking.
ALICIA (CONTD)
Wait! Are you really leaving?
EROS
Dont worry. Ill come back!
ALICIA
Wait!
Eros exits the scene, leaving Alicia on air.

ALICIA (CONTD)
That was abrupt. I wonder where he
went to?
Suddenly, another knock on the door was heard from the door.
Alicia assumed it was Eros, who may forgotten something.
ALICIA (CONTD)
Coming!
But when she opened the door, it revealed Eris, who seemed
tired and worn out.
ALICIA (CONTD) (CONTD)
Eris!

ERIS
(breathing heavily)
Hello. Im back.
Alicia studies Eris and notices that she is wearing the
exact same clothes as Eros from a while ago.

ALICIA
Your clothing reminds me of
someone.
Eris panics, not knowing what to respond.

ERIS
I do?

ALICIA
Yes. He was looking for you. A man
named Eros. He was wondering where
you went and stayed here for a bit.
Then he left. Abruptly.

Eris has to add up the statements she made as Eros

ERIS
Odd. I do remember someone by the
name of Eros. A really kind,
successful man who wishes to find
an independent woman of his own who
he can support whole-heartily. A
woman of dreams and ambitions. He
wishes to help her reach it, and
she in return shall love him as
much as he loves her.

ALICIA
(awe-struck)
That sounds quite profound. Did he
really say all of that?

ERIS
No. I just assumed thats what he
said.
ALICIA
I see. I can just picture him
saying that.
Eris cant help but notice the way Alicia said those words
dreamily.

ERIS
Alicia?
ALICIA
Oh, nothing. We best get to bed.
Its past my curfew.

ERIS
You go on ahead. Im still high on
caffeine.
ALICIA
On what?
Eris immediately shakes her head when she realizes the
information that gave out.

ERIS
Good night Alicia.
ALICIA
Get a good nights rest okay?

Alicia exits the scene first, and is followed by Eris.

END SCENE
9 INT. ALICIAS HOME-MORNING

Eris wakes up on the couch when she realizes that she is no

longer a she.
EROS
(shocked)
By god! What happened?
He suddenly hears Alicias voice.
ALICIA
Eris! Are you awake?

He starts panicking, not knowing what to do. In attempt to

hide himself, he wraps blanket around himself and pretends
to be asleep. He hears footsteps. Alicia is approaching.
ALICIA (CONTD)
Eris. I know youre awake.
In desperation, he replies with the girly-est voice he could
ever manage.
EROS
(acting female)
Yes, I am. But I feel quite ill and
would like a cold bath.
ALICIA
You sound funny.
EROS
(still acting female)
Because I need a bath.

Alicia disregards the odd behavior and laughs it away.

ALICIA
Whatever you say. The bath is free
for you to occupy.

EROS
Thank you Alicia.
With that, Eros stands up with the blanket still covering
his face with the blanket, which Alicia found funny enough
to laugh at.

ALICIA
What an odd lady.
Without warning, the door suddenly opens with Augustus
behind it, flowers and all.
AUGUSTUS
Alicia!
ALICIA
Did no one ever teach you how to
knock?
AUGUSTUS
I figured I wouldnt need to
considering how soon enough youll
be my spouse and open doors for me.
Alicia is aggravated.
ALICIA
(angry)
Do you see me as a slave? No one
said anything about agreeing to
this stupid marriage plan.
AUGUSTUS
You mean excluding your parents?

ALICIA
They barely act like parents.
AUGUSTUS
Did you prepare coffee yet?
ALICIA
Go brew them on your own!
AUGUSTUS
Thats not a really polite way of
responding to guests.
ALICIA
Youre not even a guest! You just
barged into the house.

AUGUSTUS
May I ask you out then?
Alicia didnt know how to respond. Thankfully, someone
started knocking on the other side of the door. Alicia
immediately opens the door, and sees Eros, still looking for
Eris.
EROS
Good day.

ALICIA
Good day! Eros. What a surprise.
You were just here yesterday.
EROS
(chuckling)
Of course. I just had to see more
of your lovely smile.
Alicia laughs awkwardly hoping her blush wont be
noticeable. Augustus approaches, seeing the sudden shift of
atmosphere from when she was beside him, to now.

AUGUSTUS
Alicia, who is this?
ALICIA
(chuckling)
This is Eros, a friend of Eris.
EROS
Pleased to meet you.
Eros stretches his arm for a handshake, but Augustus doesnt
accept it. Eros rubs his palms around his pants. Awkwardly.
ALICIA
What brings you here?

EROS
Ah, well. Someone told me about the
opportunities that could be opened
here. Including finding Eris, and
possibly landing a date on your
busy schedule, Alicia?

Augustus immediately butts in.

AUGUSTUS
Could you please repeat that? To
me?

EROS
Im sorry, but I dont think Im
subjected to follow your
instructions.

Alicia chuckles at the burn.

AUGUSTUS
I asked her out first.
EROS
But it is her decision which one
she takes on.
ALICIA
Boys, boys. Im right here.

(Insert song: We Could Happen by Eros and Augustus)

After the song number, the parents suddenly appear.
MOTHER
Oh dear, what is happening here?

Augustus notices the parents first.

AUGUSTUS
Good day madame. Just asking your
daughter out on a date.

However, Eros is the one to approach them first and bends

down to kiss the mothers hand.
EROS
I finally see where Alicia gets her
beautiful looks.
Eros remarks immediately impresses and flatters the mother.
MOTHER
Who is this dashing young man?
EROS
Please, madam. You flatter me. My
name is Eros, a new friend of your
daughter.

FATHER
Alicia?
ALICIA
Hes looking for Eris, father.

FATHER
I see. I see. And you wish to ask
her out?
EROS
Yes sir. That is, if she would
allow such.
MOTHER
Alicia?

ALICIA
Sure. Why not?
AUGUSTUS
Youre choosing him?

ALICIA
I believe thats what I said?
The audience goes OOOOH.
EROS
(smiling)
I assure you a day of splendor.
ALICIA
Then that is what I expect.

Eros excitedly offers his hand to Alicia, who accepts

giddily. They exit the scene, leaving Augustus with the
parents, who start talking about his new rival as if they
forgot he existed.

FATHER
Fine man that Eros.
AUGUSTUS
Dont you find him the least bit
suspicious sir?

FATHER
I find any man that can make Alicia
smile like that trust-worthy.
The parents exit the scene. Augustus remains, obviously mad.
Then he exits as well.

10 EXT. STREETS-MORNING.
Show a montage of Eros and Alicia going out on dates. Eros
identity fluctuates at least twice.
The scene ends with Eros taking Alicia home.

11 EXT. STREETS-DAWN

Augustus walks around angrily, beleaguered at how he just

lost to a man who Alicia just met. You dont marry a man you
just met. Its not like theyre going to get married, but
still.
How?

AUGUSTUS
How infuriating.
A voice suddenly speaks.

SHADOW
Whats that I hear?
From the shadows emerges Nathan/Thanatos, along with the
woman who was with him last time.

AUGUSTUS
Ah, its you.
NATHAN/THANATOS
The moment I heard my friend Gus
mourning his heart out, I just had
to appear.
AUGUSTUS
(disgusted)
When did you start calling me Gus?

SHADOW 2
(pissed)
Master can call you any way he
wants.

NATHAN/THANATOS
Shh, my faithful servant. Were
here to help our friend. Is it
still the same woman?

AUGUSTUS
One way or another. And by another,
I mean another man.
SHADOW 2
A rival! Perhaps youre not as
great as master thought you were.
NATHAN/THANATOS
Shut your pie hole! Youre making
Gus feel horrible.

The woman nods at Nathan/Thanatos.

Just wait. Time will be your ally.
AUGUSTUS
You make it sound like youre going
to do something about it.
NATHAN/THANATOS

Augustus just chuckles.

The two shadows feign a gasp.

What an achievement!
NATHAN/THANATOS
Gus finally treated me like a
human!
AUGUSTUS

NATHAN/THANATOS
(chuckle)
You cant. It was nice being your
friend, Gus.
Nathan/Thanatos stretches out his hand for a shake, which
Augustus immediately returns without hesitation.
AUGUSTUS
I guess, at least once.
Suddenly, lightning cackles, and he immediately lets go.

NATHAN/THANATOS
Looks like its about to rain. Best
you get home.

AUGUSTUS
Indeed. Farewell, Nathan.
Augustus exits first, followed by Nathan and Shadow 2.

12 INT. ALICIAS HOME-NIGHT

Eros is with Alicia drinking coffee, spending time together
after the various dates they had.

ALICIA
I cant believe Ive only known you
for weeks, and yet Ive enjoyed
most of my time with you than
anyone Ive ever spent time with.

EROS
I most certainly hope so. I want
you to feel more important than you
believe you are.

ALICIA
I think youre over-doing it.

EROS
If only you could see yourself
through my eyes, youd know that I
havent done enough.
Eros leans in closer for a kiss, when Alicia pushes him away
gently.
ALICIA
No. Everything is too fast.
EROS
Fast?
Alicia keeps quiet, not looking at Eros who is waiting
expectantly. He decides to be straight-forward.
EROS (CONTD)
Alicia, Ill be honest with you.
Im wooing you with full intent on
making you my wife.
ALICIA
(concerned)
Youre being too honest.
EROS
Because I want you to know that I
mean it.

Alicia remains quiet. She still isnt convinced.

EROS (CONTD)
Here me out. I want to find an
independent woman with ambitions
and dreams. A woman with dignity,
strengths, flaws, beautiful inside
and out. A woman I can count on, a
woman who can count on me.
Eros takes hold of Alicias hands.

EROS (CONTD) (CONTD)

If I marry you, youre not my maid,
youre my wife, my partner, my
half. Your not a doll I will play
with. You will be my equal. Someone
I respect and love and treat like
you mean everything to me, and Id
hope you would do the same.

And I can see that you mean well.
But, there is one problem.
And once again, Eros body convulses as he can feel himself
transforming once again to Eris. He stands up slowly,
thinking of an excuse for leaving and breaking the moment.
EROS
Alicia, Im sorry. I must leave
once more.

ALICIA
Eros.
He heads for the door, but is stopped when Alicia grabs his
hand.

ALICIA (CONTD)
Eros, please.
EROS
I need to go.

ALICIA
This is the problem. You always
leave unexpectedly.
EROS
Alicia.
His body continues to shake, but he eases into a standing
position, whilst Alicia still holds his hand.
ALICIA
I may be independent, but without
the man I swore myself to love, I
cant live. If you keep leaving
like this, I cant see a future of
us together, because youll always
be gone.
(slowly)
Please. Stay.
Eros caresses Alicias face.

EROS
I dont ever plan to leave you when
were wed.
Eros kisses Alicias hand.

EROS (CONTD)
I promise you, this is the last.
And after this, I will be yours as
long as you will be mine.
ALICIA
Promises are meant to be broken.
EROS
Then we wont be promises. We wont
be broken. When I come back, I will
be on one knee, offering my all to
you.
And finally, he lets go of her hand, because she might feel
how boiling his body was.
EROS (CONTD)
Till the next, Alicia.
And Eros runs out of the scene, leaving Alicia alone. She
sits down, devastated, when Eris enters slowly.
ERIS
Alicia, Im back.
ALICIA
(gloomy)
I wish he would be too.
ERIS
He?

ALICIA
Its so funny. You always appear
when hes gone. I wish you could
see him at least once, again. But
he always leaves.

Alicia looks at Eris, dazed.

ALICIA (CONTD)
Will you be leaving me too?

Eris remains silent, knowing what she is supposed to do.

ERIS
Im afraid I have to. I cannot bear
not remembering anything, and I
dont think staying her all the
time would help me remember.
Alicia sighs heavily.

ALICIA
Im afraid I cant stop you. I
dont have any hold on you.
She stands up and hugs Eris.

ALICIA (CONTD)
I thank you for being my friend.
And she kisses her on the forehead.

ALICIA (CONTD) (CONTD)

My last gift. A farewell.
It takes a bit for Eris to process what just happened, but
she snaps back and smiles.

ERIS
Thank you. Now, I must leave.
And indeed, she leaves. She exits the scene, and Alicia
follows.

13 INT. HELL-???
Lucifer and Lucy are sitting, lavishing in their own
splendor when they hear the voices of their servants
storming into their room.
SHADOW 3
I know youre in hell, but this is
too rude!

SHADOW 4
You cant enter!
ERIS
Lucifer! Lucy!

They both stand up, astounded by the amount of bravery this

angel gathered to storm around their hellish abode.
LUCIFER
Oh, great. What else does she want
now?
ERIS
I offered you my wing to turn me
into a male. But all you did was
make me randomly change from girl
to boy, and Im sorry if I sound
(MORE)

ERIS (CONTD)
offensive, but that doesnt really
help me.
LUCIFER
Christ. I mean, me.
LUCY
Thats because you only got half
the deal, angel.

ERIS
Whats the other half?
LUCY
Are you sure you want to know?

ERIS

Even if it means taking out your
angelic side? Permanently?

ERIS
For Alicia, I will. Now, tell me.
LUCY
I see. Unfortunately for you, you
also need a demons horn to
complete the deal. Like yin and
yang?
ERIS
Yin and yang?
LUCIFER
Thats the Asians territory love.
LUCY

ERIS

demons horns here?

Inside Alicias house, weeks have passed, and she grown
gloomier, even with the constant attempts of Augustus to
cheer her up.
AUGUSTUS
Dont fret Alicia. You have me.
ALICIA
I never asked for your comfort.
Augustus remains silent, dumbfounded by the response. The
mother and father enter the scene, looking concerned.

MOTHER
Augustus. Could you please tend to
the kitchen?
AUGUSTUS
Yes madame.

Augustus leaves the family and scene to do what he was asked

to do.
MOTHER
Dear child, dont cry. It wont
matter if he returns.
ALICIA
But I want him to return.
(Insert song: I See the Light by Alicia and Eros)

They hear a knock on the door, and Alicias heart starts to

thump loudly. The father opens the door and reveals Eros, a
wide smile on his face.
(Insert Song: If you love me for me by Alicia and Eros)

EROS
I told you I would come back.
ALICIA
Indeed. You kept me waiting.

EROS
Need you wait no longer.
Eros goes down on one knee with a box in hand, and the other
hand holding Alicias.

EROS (CONTD)
Alicia, will you be my wife,
partner, my other half. Will you
depend on me, and let me depend on
you? Support me as I support you?

Alicia knows she wants to say yes, but she still looks at
her parents, wanting to make sure that they approve of this,
to which they respond to by nodding with smiles on their
lips.

ALICIA
Yes, Eros. I love you.
EROS
I love you too.

Cue Augustus entering the scene staying still awkwardly.

15 INT. CHURCH-DAY

Finally, the day they both awaited for so long arrived after
long preparation.

Everybody is supportive of them, and they both look very

happy as Alicia walks down the aisle. So content, and ready
to live together.
ERIS (V.O.)
Quite a feat it is, for anyone to
live their life and reach this

moment of pure bliss and happiness.
At this moment, one could say that
their life is complete. That
finally, their story alone,

Thunder suddenly echoes and a different tension in the air
when a man walks down the aisle. Nathan. But he looked
different; he had a horn adorned on one side of his head,
and markings on his face that werent there before.

THANATOS
How rude. Are you not even going to
ask the audience whether they
object to this wedding?

Eros steps in front of Alicia protectively as the audience

stands up in defense.
AUGUSTUS
Nathan?

THANATOS
Long time no see, Augustus.
FATHER
You know this man, Augustus?

AUGUSTUS
I-
THANATOS
You need not say more, Augustus.

He looks around, his face serious but tone still as charming

as it was.
THANATOS (CONTD)
I am Thanatos. I have come to deal
justice upon a human so vile for
stealing what does not belong to
them.
EROS
Thanatos, we had a deal.

THANATOS
Eris. I am befuddled by how you
convinced me to help you achieve
your goal.

He points at his missing horn.

THANATOS (CONTD)
I am here to take the life of the
human that took my other half from
me.

ALICIA
Eros, why did he call you Eris?
He turns around playfully with a gun in hand, pointing it at
people, until he slows down at Eros, but immediately changes
the direction Alicia.

THANATOS
Alicia.
And the trigger is pulled, along with the screams of people
panicking and running away, down the stage.

AUGUSTUS AND EROS

Alicia!
Augustus runs for Alicia who is in Eros arms, bleeding to
death.

EROS
Alicia. Alicia! Alicia!
AUGUSTUS
Alicia! Wake up!

Augustus is enraged, and approaches Thanatos.

AUGUSTUS (CONTD)
Nathan!

THANATOS
Augustus.
AUGUSTUS
What are you doing?

THANATOS
Justice.
AUGUSTUS
When you said you would help, I
never said anything about killing
Alicia! I never asked for none of
this!
He pushes Thanatos angrily, who has a rather smug face on.
THANATOS
Foolish human. Do you honestly
think I am doing this because I
feel pity for you losing to a man
that never existed?

AUGUSTUS
What?
THANATOS
And youre right. You didnt ask
for anything. Thats why when the
deal was sealed, you gave me the
(MORE)

THANATOS (CONTD)
credibility to do whatever I can to
achieve our similar goals.
Augustus seems confused.

AUGUSTUS
Deal? We never made a deal!
Thanatos laughs. He raises his hand and shakes it, making
him remember about the handshake they shared the last time
they met.
AUGUSTUS (CONTD)
That was the deal?!
Upon hearing this, Eros stands up, looking terribly angry.

EROS
(angry)
Petulant human! You made a deal
with a demon?

AUGUSTUS
(defensive)
No! I never asked for this!
EROS
Its your fault Alicia is in this
state!
AUGUSTUS
Why are you blaming me? I didnt
shoot her! Im just as mad as you
are!
Augustus looks at Thanatos and points at Eros.
AUGUSTUS (CONTD)
If you wanted to help me, you
shouldve shot him!
Eros is out of control and runs for Augustus. His hands coil
around Augustus neck, not letting any air enter his body as
he struggles, but he cannot beat the power of an angel.

AUGUSTUS (CONTD) (CONTD)

Stop! Youre going to kill me.
EROS
That is what I intend to do!
 53.

But even with his desperate pleas, Eros continues on until

Augustus body goes limp, lifeless. When Eros lets go, he
immediately drops dead.
Eros is breathing heavily, adrenaline coursing through his
every vein. Thanatos applauds.
THANATOS
Bravo, Eris. Youve just committed
a sin angels cant do unless they
are in war.

Eros looks at Thanatos with blood in his eyes.

EROS
And I will do it again. To you.

And Eros engages Thanatos in a fight, they both get equally

beaten up, leading up to a point where Eros has Thanatos
close to death.
THANATOS
Eris, stop. You wouldnt do this.
You wont kill me.
EROS
Give me one good reason not to end
your life after you ended the life
of the one I care for the most.

THANATOS
(slowly)
Because I am the one you care for
the most.

Eros laughs maniacally, astounded by the sudden claim.

EROS
(laughing)
Did I hit your head to hard to make
you think of such a claim?
THANATOS
(heart-broken)
Eris, cant you remember? Ego
semper amabo te.

Eros is taken aback, a memory suddenly flashing in his mind.

ENTER YOUNG ERIS and YOUNG THANATOS as they play around
together.

YOUNG ERIS
Thanatos, I love you.
YOUNG THANATOS
So do I. But Eris-

Young Thanatos holds Eris hands.

YOUNG THANATOS (CONTD)
Our love isnt meant to be.

YOUNG ERIS
How so?
YOUNG THANATOS
I do not think your God would
permit his beautiful creation to
love such a horrendous creature as
I.
YOUNG ERIS
I have never heard of such a law
that prohibits me from seeing the
best in you, and loving you.
Young Thanatos embraces Young Eris.
YOUNG THANATOS
I may not be able to offer you a
ring, or make an oath to the
Almighty One or to world, but you
are my world.
YOUNG ERIS
And you are mine.

Young Thanatos kneels on one knee, holding Young Eris

hands.
YOUNG THANATOS
Eris, will you be my wife, partner,
my other half. Will you depend on
me, and let me depend on you?
Support me as I support you?
YOUNG ERIS
Yes, Thanatos.
YOUNG THANATOS
Will you always love me?

YOUNG ERIS
Ego semper amabo te.
They embrace each other happily, and walk to either sides of
the stage and wait.

MOTHER (V.O.)
A sin even more abhorrent than
treason. For you to have loved a
being as treacherous as a demon.

Angels suddenly appear from behind Eris.

ANGEL 3
There she is!
ANGEL 4
Get her!
They grab her by her arms and she starts struggling.
YOUNG ERIS
No! Let go of me!

Young Thanatos walks towards them slowly, happy as he waits

for Young Eris.
YOUNG THANATOS
Eris? Im here!

YOUNG ERIS
Thanatos!
YOUNG THANATOS
Eris!

Young Eris reaches out for Young Thanatos hand. Young

Thanatos reaches out as well when he is taken a back by
Shadow 2 that appears behind him.

YOUNG THANATOS (CONTD)

No, let go of me!
SHADOW 2
Sir, please! Your father and mother
wouldnt want you involved in
Heavens politics, religion, and
their quarrels.
YOUNG THANATOS
No! I demand you to let go of me
servant!
 56.

SHADOW 2
Please master! Lucy and Lucifer
will feel devastated if you get
punished by the heavens!

Other Shadows appear and hold Young Thanatos still.

YOUNG ERIS
Thanatos!
YOUNG THANATOS
Eris!
Young Eris is dragged away by the angels as Young Thanatos
weeps alone. The shadows exit as well.
A new memory is flashed back of when Eris asks for Thanatos
to give her his horn.
Young Eris enters the scene, looking for something, when the
weeping Thanatos notices her and looks up.
YOUNG THANATOS (CONTD)
Eris? Is that you?
Young Eris doesnt notice him at first, until he calls her
again.
YOUNG THANATOS (CONTD) (CONTD)
Eris!
YOUNG ERIS
Whos there?
Young Thanatos stands up and slowly approaches Young Eris as
if to check if it is really her.
YOUNG THANATOS
Eris! Is that you?

Young Eris finally notices him and is stunned by his

appearance.
YOUNG ERIS
Youre a demon! How does every
demon know who I am?

Young Thanatos stops in his tracks.

YOUNG THANATOS
You dont remember me?
 57.

YOUNG ERIS
No, I dont. I dont remember
anything.
Young Thanatos notices Young Eris missing wing.

YOUNG THANATOS
Your wing! What happened to it?!
YOUNG ERIS
Oh.

Young Eris observes herself.

YOUNG ERIS (CONTD)
I offered it to the king and queen
of Hell.

YOUNG THANATOS
But why?
YOUNG ERIS
I am trying to achieve something,
so I offered my wing.
Young Eris shoulders slump.
YOUNG ERIS (CONTD)
But apparently it wasnt enough.
Half of my whole being isnt
enough. I still need another
demons horn.
Young Thanatos face brightens up.

YOUNG THANATOS
Take mine!
Young Eris is shocked.

YOUNG ERIS
What a sudden suggestion. Why would
a demon offer half their life force
to an angel? Arent we supposed to
be enemies?

Young Thanatos pulls off his horn and offers it to her.

YOUNG THANATOS
Its to hoping you can get your
memory back. When it does, Ill see
you again and take back what is
mine.

YOUNG ERIS
What is yours..?

YOUNG THANATOS
Promise me you will remember.
YOUNG ERIS
I promise. Thank you.

The flashbacks end as Young Thanatos and Young Eris exit the
scene.
THANATOS
Dont you remember?

EROS
I remember everything. I remember
you!
Thanatos face brightens up with hope. Eros turns around and
remembers Alicia suffering on the ground.

THANATOS
Eris, will you come back to me?
EROS
Alicia!

Eros runs for Alicia, and Thanatos face contorts with

disappointment. He walks towards them, slowly.
EROS (CONTD)
Alicia! Alicia! What can I do?
He then remembers his remaining wing, and decides to use it
to save Alicia. He grabs the nearest sharp object and
attempts to cut it, when Thanatos stops him.

EROS (CONTD)
Thanatos, let go of me.
THANATOS
What are you doing?

EROS
Saving Alicia.
THANATOS
But youll die!

EROS
Then I will die knowing that I
saved the love of my life.
 59.

THANATOS
No!
Thanatos forcefully takes Eros hands away from his back.
THANATOS (CONTD)
Eris, I thought I was the love your
life. I thought you loved me.
EROS
I do.

THANATOS
Then live. Live for me. Lets leave
this world. Run away with me. Why
risk your life for a human that
will inevitably die no matter how
much of your soul you give up to
keep them alive.
Thanatos starts crying.
THANATOS (CONTD)
I will protect you from the wrath
of Heaven and jurisdictions of
hell, and the treacheries of the
human world.
(Insert song: Break Even by Thanatos and Eros)

THANATOS (CONTD)
Please, Eris. Love me again.
EROS
(sad)
Thanatos. I love you. I did love
you. You were my world.
Eros looks at Alicia again, pulling his hand away from
Thanatos.

EROS (CONTD)
But now, Alicia is my world. You
know what I would do for the one I
love the most.

THANATOS
No!
EROS
If you love me, youd understand my
actions and let me go.
 60.

Thanatos remains quiet and steps back as Eros reaches out to

his back and cuts his wing. He moans at the incredible pain,
but forces his voice back in.
But Alicia isnt moving.

EROS (CONTD)
(in pain)
No. Why isnt it working?
Eros loses hope and embraces Alicias cold body.

EROS (CONTD)
No! Alicia! Please, come back!
He continues to weep and embrace her body.

Thus, Thanatos decides to do what makes his loved one happy.

He cuts out his own horn slowly. Eros notices this, and he
is surprised.
EROS (CONTD)
Thanatos, what are you doing?!

THANATOS
Cutting out my horn.
EROS
Why?

THANATOS
You will always need another
demons horn to complete any deal
you ask from hell.

EROS
But youre killing yourself!
THANATOS
(smiling)
Then I kill myself knowing I made
the person I love the most happy
with what I did.
When the horn is finally off, Thanatos shudders in pain.

THANATOS (CONTD)
Take what is left of me and do what
you wish with it.
Eros is filled with appreciation and embraces Thanatos one
last time. They step back and wait for Alicia to rise.
 61.

Alicia gasps, and she finally wakes up. She stands up to see
lots of people dead and immediately looks for Eros.

ALICIA
Eros!
Thanatos and Eros speak together.
EROS
I will always love you.
THANATOS
Ego semper amabo te.
And they both faint. Alicia looks at the audience, and
weeps.
