1. General Objective
This method statement describes the procedure and method of installation Doors and Windows for
Salambigar Industrial Park Threading Shop and SCM LBD Project

2. Material and Equipment

Material and Equipment Type

1.Doors and Windows Aluminum, Glass, Timber and Metal(As per Shop Drawing)

3. Work Procedure

3.1 Delivery, Storage and Handling


Store doors and Windows in clean dry ventilated area. Stack doors flat and floors,
supported to prevent damages. No other materials to be place on top of stacked
doors and windows.
All doors and windows will be packed with plastic.
Store flat over level surface above floor on wood block.
Each doors and windows frames tagged with sticker with door number and
location.
3.2 Material and Color
Check the tagged each doors, windows and locate as per the approved shop
drawings, doors and windows schedule.

3.3 Installation

3.3.1 Wooden Door Frames


Verify opening dimension, angles and levels from finish floor line reference to
ensure that frames fit the openings.
Install the plate or bracket by screw to the jamb align or fit in jamb to each desire
location and elevation.
Fix the door frame to the opening with proper support, gap between rear of the
jamb and wall shall be filled with mortar.
Prior to installation door hinges shall be installed to door frame and door leaf. Size,
type, numbers and position shall be following to shop drawing.
Lockset shall be installed to the door leaf according to shop drawing, type and
position shall be according to shop drawing.
Install, align and fit the doors in the frames with uniform clearance and bevel to
provide 3mm at heads jamb, bottom to top of decorative floor finish or covering as
per approved shop drawing.
Complete wooden doors shall operate freely and smoothly without rattle or bound
condition.
3.3.2 Aluminum Doors and windows
Verify opening dimension, angles and levels to make sure the frame fit to the
openings.
Prepared all necessary marking for the position (verticality and horizontality) to
make sure the aluminum sub-frame and frame as according to the shop drawing.
Fix the aluminum sub-frame to the opening by screwing the plate to the wall.
Gap until front sub-frame shall be covered by plaster following to shop drawing.
Fix the frames to the opening by screwing, gap between rear of the frame and
plastered wall shall be filled with sealant.
Install, align and fit the aluminum door and window leafs with uniform clearance.

4. Quality Control
Protect doors and windows as recommended by the manufacturer to ensure without
damage deterioration at the time of completion.
Repair door and window that do not swing, slide or operate freely
Replace door and window that are damaged during installation.
Scratched during construction shall be immediately repaired.

5. Safety
During working time all workers should be worn Personal Protective Equipment such
us safety goggles, gloves, masks etc.
To dispose of waste material to appropriate place.
