To: The Students and Parents of Wendat Village Public School.

I would like to first thank you for welcoming me into your community &
home. My name is Marcus Ng and grew up in Markham, attending E.T Crowle P.S
then Markham District High School where I eventually found myself graduating at
Lakehead University with Honors in Kinesiology & Bachelor of Education degrees.
I spent a year teaching in the U.K. then spent the next 10 years fostering &
developing students & athletes from grades 4 - 12 at TCMPS & Coaching Provincial
volleyball & work at The Keg Steakhouse & Bar. Ive taught at various schools
including: Randall, Greenborough, Stonebridge, Dr. Roberta Bondar & Coledale.
Outside of school, my interest primary lie in the development, fitness, health
& well-being of my students & athletes. My involvement & passion in athletics all
began when I began competitive swimming with the MArkham Aquatic Club in
grade 5, as I dreamed of being an Olympian as I trained between the ages of 8 21.
Training from 4 - 7 am 6 days a week & qualifying for the Olympic trials in 1996 has
taught me alot about not giving up no matter how many times you fail & to be
persistent. I always lead by example (actions) vs words while being involved as
much as I can through modelling. I enjoy dancing and have a good knowledge of the
Tech world (skills acquired through self-teaching). I was raised with high
expectations, which is a reason why I in turn have high expectations of my
students/athletes. All individuals have more potential than they think & just need to
be guided and given the right skills to be the best that they can be in surpassing their
individual threshold. This is achieved by creating a very supportive, approachable,
positive & respectable rich learning environment. Day in day out. I expect effort,
focus, hard work, team-work, self-regulation and for them to understand that making
mistakes and taking chances are important in learning and understanding. The
greatest feeling in the world for me is to visually see the results of their hard work,
effort & perseverance drives my commitment, my energy & my time in and outside
of school for them to succeed.
It is important that you and your child understand my guidelines & academic
expectations within the classroom. Firstly, Quality over Quantity is very important
to me. I have always found parents to be very supportive in my unique ability in
shaping their childs future. Please advise me if at any time your child has an issue,
academically, socially, or emotionally or should your child become discouraged or
fearful about school, please communicate with me so that we can develop a plan of
action together.
Sincerely,
Marcus Ng
RESPECT Everyone around you. Dont take anything for granted and treat others in the
same way you would want to be treated through your actions, not words and dont just get
things done, but get them done right the first time
Mr. Ngs Guidelines

forward making this a very successful year for us all.
Google Classroom Parent Letter and Guidelines

Dear Parents,

This year we will be piloting Google Classroom in Social Studies. Classroom is a free and
secure learning network for teachers, students, and schools. It provides a safe way for us to
connect, share content, access homework, participate in discussions and receive class
information. The purpose of this program is to enhance the learning ability of your child by
way of giving your child every opportunity to succeed in my class. I post lesson videos of past
lessons for students so that they may watch and be reminded of what they have learned in
class that day or previous days, as well to help them in completing their homework and
assignments without the aid of parents or teachers being present. This is one way in which I
try to allow them to build their independence in problem solving.

Classroom is accessible online and through any mobile device with Internet capabilities
including free apps for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices. Students can access
their account from any mobile device or computer. This tool will be used strictly for
educational purposes using the following guidelines:

~Students will be required to use appropriate grammar instead of texting language.

~The site will be used to discuss school-related content only.

Your childs student account will help them keep informed of due dates, assignments, grades,
school events, important resources, and engage in direct communication with me.
Students are encouraged to post interesting findings, questions, etc. to the group, use the site
to check on work missed when absent, ask questions about assignments, and respond to the
teachers postings, each others postings, etc. Again, this is all for enrichment, not a
requirement, and aside from postings about required work in class, none of the other
content is meant to be assessed.

I am look forward to a great year as we incorporate the use of technology into our classroom
curriculum. If you have any questions, please let me know.

using the program during school hours, students are
encouraged to use it at home as a way of
supplementing their practice!

Learn at home!

Have you ever wished your child was as enthusiastic about learning as they are about video
games? With Prodigy, your child can continue their learning at home, exactly where they left
off at school. It takes less than 2 minutes to get started:

parent account (see Learn at Home above),

$5/month.

On average, Premium Members master 92% more math skills than non-members:
