Welcome to Math 7. The goal for this course is to prepare students for success in later math classes, build upon
mastered mathematical concepts, develop problem solving skills, and understand practical applications of math in
our everyday lives. To achieve this goal, we will utilize the following activities:

Participation/Assignments
Students are expected to work on warm-ups, take notes, complete assignments, ask/answer questions, and
keep their notebooks organized and up to date.
Late Work
Large assignments will have a deduction of 10 points per day that the assignment is late. You will receive
partial credit for any assignments turned in after the due date.

Make-Up Work
If a student has an excused absence, he/she will have 5 days to turn in any missing assignment. If a student
misses a test or a quiz, he/she should consult with the teacher to agree on a time to make it up that is mutually
convenient.

Severity Clause

Classroom Expectations and Rules

1. Be respectful! Rudeness, disrespect, and bullying will not be tolerated in our classroom. Remember to
show respect for yourself and others in our classroom.
2. Be prompt! You must be in your seat and ready to start your warm-up when the bell rings.
3. Be prepared daily! You must come to class with your Chromebook, notebook, a pencil, paper, your
calculator, and homework.
4. No food or drink in the classroom. Water is the only exception and must be in a clear container.
5. Be responsible! You are accountable for your own success! Take every opportunity to learn as much as
you can.
6. Cell phones are not to be used or seen on campus during school hours per CMS policy. All cell phones
must be turned off and placed in your book bag. Cell phones that are visible, audible or being used
during school hours will be confiscated and turned in to the front office.
