Gases Density

The document provides a table listing the densities, molecular weights, and chemical formulas of various common gases. Some gases listed include acetylene, air, methane, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, helium, and propane. For each gas, the table gives the molecular formula, molecular weight in atomic mass units, and density in both kilograms per cubic meter and pounds per cubic foot at normal temperature and pressure.

Note that even if pounds per cubic foot (lb/ft3) is often used as a measure of density in the
U.S., pounds are really a measure of force, not mass. Slugs per cubic foot ((slugs/ft3)) are
the correct measure of mass. You can divide pounds per cubic foot by 32.2 for a rough value
in slugs.
