mole percent.
2. What is the average molecular weight of a natural gas having 73% methane, 21% ethane
and rest nitrogen, by weight?
3. To what pressure should 5 kg of CO 2 at 30 be compressed to store in a 0.6 m3 vessel?
4. Determine the maximum temperature to which 5 kg of nitrogen enclosed in a 0.9 m3
vessel, may be heated without the pressure exceeding 10 atm.
5. What is the density of H 2 -O 2 mixture with 11% H 2 by mass, at 30 and 2 atm?
6. Determine the pressure and volumetric composition of a vapour mixture of benzene (C 6
H 6 ), toluene (C 6 H 5 CH 3 ) and xylene (C 6 H 4 (CH 3 ) 2 ) in contact with a liquid solution
containing 35% benzene, 40% toluene and rest xylene by weight, at 100. Vapour

Benzene 1.76
Toluene 0.74
Xylene 0.28

b. P = 2 atm, h = 300 J/gm
c. s = 2 J/gm K, = 0.02 gm/ cm3

Comment on the results.
10. Calculate the liquid and vapour composition for a N 2 -O 2 mixture at 95 K and 2 atm
using
(a) Equilibrium constants, and
(b) Raoults law
Comment on the results.
