Language and communication are intrinsically linked because language allows humans to transmit ideas and thoughts to others. While language is made up of sounds and symbols, communication can also involve gestures and body language. Both language and communication are how humans express and exchange information. They are different terms but serve the same fundamental purpose of sharing meaning between individuals and across communities.

IS THE LANGUAGE THE SAME AS COMMUNICATION?

By:
Jos Christian Pineda
Brayan Alexander Recinos

The language and communication are characters that make human beings unique
because human are able to produce sounds to transmit ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc;
and the others are able to understand the message. But reproducing is not the only way
to transmit messages, we can do it by gestures and signs what is called body language.
But is the same language as communication? We think that they are the same because
if we have a language, we are able to communicate something to someone. In the
moment that everybody has a language means that everybody can have
communication.

With our own words we can say that language is just to put a lot sounds together to
communicate a message. As we said at the beginning, language is one of the
characteristics that make us unique and distinguish from others beings. Animals can
communicate, but some people do not consider as a language; we think if sounds they
produce have a meaning to them, that is its language. We think that the language
(symbols and sounds) is meaningful and easy to understand for the people who speak
in the same way or share the same culture and interests. When a person from other
country, where people dont speak our mother tongue, is impossible to communicate
effectively or even when we go to San Miguel, and make a conversation with people
living there; there are some words that the meaning they give to those words, are
completely different to the meaning we have to the same words (specially with bad
words). On the other hand, we have the people with disabilities and cant communicate
as others do; blind people have a special system in which they can communicate, and
all symbols have a meaning for them. Also deaf people cant speak, but they produce
sounds that others with the same condition can perfectly understand. We can close this
just saying that language is too extensive around the world, and it is become a
language in the moment that people give meaning to those sounds and symbols.
What is communication?

According to the Merriam- Webster Dictionary, communication is the act or process of

using words, sound , signs, or behaviors to express or Exchange information or to
express idea, in others words the communication is every language that can
transmitting a meaning . Every human has the necessity to communicate, when a child
born; as we know, he cant talk or articulate a word or sentences that can describe what
he has or what he feel, but he use a specific way to communicate when he has hungry,
or when he has a pain in his body, sometimes he cry or make gestures, at the and he
transmitting a message by his crying. The same happened when a person from other
country that speak another language come to our country, maybe he cannot speak
Spanish, but he can use signs or gesture to communicate ; for example if he want to go
to the bathroom or if he need something he can use this kind of language to transmitting
a messenger or a necessity that they have, for this reason is important to know that
communication not only happened when we speak, communication happened when we
transmitting a message using our mouth, using letters ,or our body.

It is hard to stablish differences between language and communication, in the moment

that we have language we can communicate. Thats why we consider that the language
is part of the communication and the necessity of communication make people look for
a way in which they can transmit a message. So we can conclude that language is
innate in human beings. In terms, language and communication are different, but in the
practice they are the same because if the communication didnt exist, language would
not exist; they complement each other.
