Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is the 2017-2018 SMART goals that my team and I created looking at past
Iowa Assessments Data from our students. This artifact shows how I am implementing
professional development plans put in place by the school district and how I plan to use
these goals to increase student achievement. This document also shows how I have
collected data on students strengths and weaknesses and am working to help meet the
needs of the students in my classroom.

Reflection on the artifact:

This artifact is one that I am very proud of. I really feel like I had a great input when my
team was talking about what we wanted our goals to be this year. Many of the students
that fall in the less than proficient category are in my class this year (3 for reading and 6
for math). This helps me really know which students I need to give extra help and
reteaching to in the classroom and it also helps me to pinpoint the students that are
going to need my extra support. Knowing this ahead of time is really giving me the
information necessary to help my students try to make proficiency this year.
