MOTIVATION LETTER

Motivation letter is an important part of your application. It gives you opportunity to present rele-
vant material not possible to provide in the formal application form. You may bring into light and
discuss the following issues:

- background information, achievements, your present situation


- future plans, long-term goals
- how does the program benefit your academic interests and professional career goals?

Things to consider in the motivation letter:

1. What and where have you studied, how does your academic background fit to the de-
gree programme you are applying for?
2. Describe your learning skills based on earlier academic or professional experience (e.g.
independent work, academic writing, collaborating, type of analytical skills, computer
skills etc.)
3. Describe your professional goals. How does the degree programme you are applying for
will support your professional profile?
4. Describe your long-term plans and discuss how the degree programme will enable you to
achieve your goals?
5. Please bring to light 1-2 potential research questions of your interest
