Tested Background

MAC OS10.7
Microsoft Lync for Mac is installed
Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac is installed
Lync host is purchased
Lync account is subscripted
Firewall is all off

Steps:

1) In Mac OS, open safari, go to lync.yourdomain.com

2) In the browser, open the SSL cert. To do so, you should see a
keychain next to address bar. Click it to open.

3) Drag them all onto your desktop

4) Double-click them and add it into login under your account

5) Then go to System Preference, then Keychain. Go to login, amend

them all the certs to always trust

6) Open Microsoft Lync client, amend both the internal and external server
to: sipdir.online.lync.com:443

7) Now, you should able to login. Please note that username is email
address which used to subscript your lync account.

How to Setup Outlook 2011 in MAC

Solution Outline

Because of the incompatibility, we need to use Davmail to be the middle

person between Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2011,

Firstly, we have to setup Davmail- including install, configure and make it

runs automatically while reboot every time.

Secondly, we have to setup Outlook account profile. We will use IMAP

settings and the server will be localhost because we are using Davmail!

Thirdly, since outlook 2011 calendar is not supported, we have to use

iCal to check the schedule appointments. So we will need to setup
address book and iCal account profile.

Therefore, please make sure the Internet is connected, and Davmail is

running with no problem, otherwise the outlook, address and Calendar
will not work!

PART A: Davmail

1)Open Web browser, download Davmail.app from opensource website

2)Unzip it to DavMail.app, then run it.

3) In the Davmail application, In the field of OWA (Exchange) URL: type

4)Go to Advanced, check Active Sync. Other settings:

Local POP port: 1110

Local IMAP port: 1143
Local SMTP port: 1025
Caldav HTTP port: 1080
Local LDAP port: 1389

5)Save then Close.

6)Copy it to profiles Application folder

a.To do so, go to Utilites, open Terminal

b.Type cd /
c.Type cd Application (should be under users profile)
d.Type cp r unzipped directory\Davmail.app Davmail.app

7) Go to Finder, then Application, then System Preferences, then Users &

Groups

8) In the left frame, choose your profile, then at the right frame, choose
Login items

9)Click the button +, then choose Applications Folder, and then choose the
Davmail, then click button Add.

10) Reboot. After reboot and login, you will see there is an icon of Davmail (a
flashlight in a circle) in the notification bar at right upper corner.

11)You may check or modify it by click it, then choose Settings

PART B: Outlook 2011

1) Run Outlook. (Go to Finder, then Go, then Applications, then Microsoft
2011, then Microsoft Outlook)

2)With Outlook open, go to Tools, then Accounts

3)In the Accounts window, click +,

4) Choose Email, then type Email address ([email protected]) and the

login password

5)User name is as the same as your windows login name

6) In the field of Incoming server, type: 127.0.0.1 or localhost, click

Override default port, and for the port number, type 1143.

7) In the field of Outcoming server, type: 127.0.0.1 or localhost, click

Override default port, and for the port number, type 1025. Then click
more Options, in Authentication , choose User Name and Password,
then input login username and password as your domain account.

8)Save, then go to Outlook, double click the Jobsdb inside the Inbox. Then
you should see your Outlook is downloading emails now!

PART C: Address Book

1) Open Address book (Go to Finder, then Go, then Applications, then
Address Book)

2) With Address book open, go to Address Book (on the top), then
Preferences

3)Click the button +

To add your own contacts of your mailbox

4)For the Account type, choose CalDav.

5) User name and Password are as the same as your windows login
(without domain name postfixes)

6)Server Address: locahost

7)Port: 1080

8)Now your mailbox contacts are being loaded into address book!

To add Exchanges global contact list

4)For the Account type, choose LDAP

5)Server: localhost

6)Port: 1389

7)Search Base: ou=people

8)Scope: Subtree

9)Authentication: Simple

10)Username: yourusername (without domain name perfixes)

11)Password: your login password

PART D: Calendar

1)Open iCal, then go to Preferences

2)Go to Accounts, click button +

3)For Account Type, choose CalDAV

4) Username and Password are as the same as your windows login, no

domain name prefix needed.

5)Server Address: http://127.0.0.1:1080

6)Server Path: /principals/users/[email protected]

7)Now the profile should be created. Change the Refresh Calendars rate to
Every minutes if wanted.

8)Leave the server settings (no SSL needed)

9) Close the windows, restart the iCal. Now the Calendar is downloading
from your exchange server!
