DEFINITIONS
Organizational Behavior
It refers to the actions and attitudes of individuals and groups toward one another and towards the
organization as a whole, and its effect on the organization's functioning and performance.

It is the study and application of knowledge about how people, individuals, and groups act in
organizations. It does this by taking a system approach. That is, it interprets people-organization
relationships in terms of the whole person, whole group, whole organization, and whole social
system. Its purpose is to build better relationships by achieving human objectives, organizational

It seeks to understand human behavior in organizational contexts. It examines the ways people
cope with the problems and opportunities of organizational life. It results from the many complex
interactions that occur daily between humans, groups of humans, an the organizational
environment in which they spend their workday. It is also the actual behavior of individuals and
groups in and around purposeful organizations. It is the application of the theories, methods, and
research findings of the behavioral sciencesparticularly those of psychology, social psychology,
sociology, cultural anthropology, and to a lesser degree economics and political scienceto

Studies the impact in individuals, groups, and structures have on human behavior within
organizations. It is an interdisciplinary field that includes sociology, psychology, communication
and management. Organizational theory, which focuses on organizational and intra-organizational
