Lesson Objective(s) :

• The students will identify the main organelles of a cell.
• The students will describe the function of each organelle in a cell.
• The students will differentiate between organelles in a plant cell and an animal cells.
• The students will create a Photostory on a cell organelle.
Assessment Plan:
(What will be done to determine if lesson objectives have been met?)
• The students will be assessed on their Photostory presentations. After each student
presents their presentation, they will be asked questions by the teacher and the class. The
student will be assessed on the accuracy of their answers.
Materials:
• Biology book.
• Notebook.
• Writing utensil.
• Computer access.
Enrichment Techniques:
• The students will be asked to provide more images in their presentation and provide more
in depth discussion about their topic.
Lesson Differentiation (What modifications/accommodations will be made to ensure that ALL
students have access to and are able to participate in the lesson):
• The students will be given a lesson on how to operate the Photostory program. The
student body will be paired in mixed groups while learning the skill required to use
Photostory.
Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:
• The teacher will play a game of hangman with the students. The words used in the games
will be different types of organelles. The students will guess the letters until the words are
revealed. A list of all the words used in the game will be posted on the board so the
students can have a complete list of organelles that may be used for the presentation.
Closure:
• If the students are not completed with their presentation, the students will save their
materials to the desktop.
• When the class has completed their presentations, the students will begin to present their
information to the class.
• The students will ask questions about the presentations.
