Activity 1

Working with Objects in MS Word


Insert Tab--Images, Clipart, WordArt, Shapes & Text boxes
Picture Tools Format Tab--wrap text, rotate, crop/crop shape,
bring forward/send backward

1. Start with a blank Word document.


2. Save as working with objects.
3. Change the page orientation to landscapepage layout tab
4. Change all margins to .5page layout tab
5. Using the WordArt feature (insert tab) create your first name using at least
three text effects on your name (drawing tools format tab). Note: if the
drawing tools format tab is not visible double click on the edge of the
WordArt text box.
6. Add a minimum of four images (insert tab) but no more than eight to your
pagethe images should portray who you are. Demonstrate at least four
picture tools formats. Please do not use a background image to cover the
whole page.
7. Size your WordArt box so it is the largest object on the page then layout all
the objects on the page so they create an eye appealing design.
8. Use the print preview feature to make sure all your objects that are close to
the edges of the page are not cut off.
