Project Guidelines
Project Guidelines
The students will submit their project report in the prescribed format. The following material
must be submitted:
1. Two hard bound Copy of the Project Report (White color binding for B.Sc. CS, Green
for Maths, Pink for BBM/ BBM CA, Black silver for B.Com CA, Navy blue for B.Com IT,
Dark Green for B.Com, Yellow for BCA, Sky blue for B.Sc. IT, Brown for B.Sc. CT, Silver
white for M.Sc. CS and M.Sc. SS) should be submitted in the department after duly
signed by the Guide, HOD and Principal.
2. Students should prepare one more hard copy for their own.
3. Soft copy of report including the code on Floppy/CD in a thick envelope pasted inside
of the back cover of the project report. (for B.Sc. CS, BCA, B.Sc. IT, B.Sc. CT,
M.Sc. SS, M.Sc. CS)
4. The Project Report may be about 75 pages (excluding coding).
Report Format (MINI PROJECT ONLY)31: The write up must adhere to the guidelines and
should include the following.

2. Declaration by candidates of same group
3. Acknowledgement
4. Abstract
5. Introduction
6. Literature Review
7. Objective and scope of the Project
8. Methodology
9. Results and Discussion
10.Conclusions
11.Bibliography
12.Appendex
Page numbers - All text pages as well as Program source code listing should be numbered
at the bottom center of the pages.
Normal Body Text: Font Size: 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 Spacing, Justified. 6 point above
and below para spacing
Paragraph Heading Font Size: 14, Times New Roman, Underlined, Left Aligned. 12 point
above & be low spacing.
Chapter Heading Font Size: 20, Times New Roman, Centre Aligned, 30 point above and
below spacing.
Coding Font size : 10, Courier New, Normal

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: In the Acknowledgement page, the writer recognizes his
indebtedness for guidance and assistance of the different persons and members of the
faculty. Courtesy demands that he also recognize specific contributions by other persons or
institutions such as libraries and research foundations. Acknowledgements should be
expressed simply, tastefully, and tactfully.
ABSTRACT: All students must write a summary in the project report. Summary, preferably,
should be of about 1-2 pages.
INTRODUCTION: This includes the basic terms and definitions. The subheadings may be
appropriate places for covering the topic under consideration. Suitable examples may be
given for better understanding. The figures and tables may be included for proper
representation of the topic
LITERATURE REVIEW: Includes the study and experimentation carried out on the topic
which is being studying in the present project.
OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE: This should give a clear picture of the project. Objective should be
clearly specified. What way the project is going to contribute in the technical field has to be
mentioned.
METHODOLOGY: The write -up must include the Methodology for the project work. It end
with the concluding remarks-briefly describing innovation in the approach for implementing
the Project, main achievements and also any other important feature that makes the system
stand out from the rest.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS: This chapter must include the results of the project
developed. The comparison of the results of significance of the results should be discussed
in this chapter. The concluding remarks may be included specifying how the project can help
the end user.
CONCLUSION: This includes the end result derived from the project and any further scope
of research which can be carried out using the present work.
