3. What is the difference between avalanche breakdown and zener breakdown?
Ans. As avalanche breakdown begins, free electrons are accelerated by the electric field
to very high speeds. As these high-speed electrons move through the material they
inevitably strike atoms. If their velocity is not sufficient for avalanche breakdown
(because the electric field is not strong enough) they are absorbed by the atoms and the
process halts. However, if their velocity is high enough, when they strike an atom, they
knock an electron free from it, ionizing it. This is referred to as impact ionization for
obvious reasons. Both the original electron and the one that has just been knocked free
are then accelerated by the electric field and strike other atoms, in turn knocking
additional electrons free. As this process continues, the number of free electrons moving
through the material increases exponentially, often reaching a maximum in just
picoseconds. The avalanche can result in the flow of very large currents, limited only by
the external circuitry. Whereas in zener breakdown, With the application of sufficient
reverse voltage, a p-n junction will experience a rapid avalanche breakdown and conduct
current in the reverse direction. Valence electrons, which break free under the influence
of the applied electric field, can be accelerated enough that they can knock loose other
electrons and the subsequent collisions quickly become an avalanche. When this process
is taking place, very small changes in voltage can cause very large changes in current.
The breakdown process depends upon the applied electric field, so by changing the
thickness of the layer to which the voltage is applied, zener diodes can be formed which
break down at voltages from about 4 volts to several hundred volts.

locations then it becomes easier for the compiler to do the job.

4. A case:

You are a project manager in TCS. Germany people wanted a product to be designed by
TCS.Your job is: You have to stay for 4 months in Germany, know the requirements of the
clients there, then come to Hyderabad stay for 6 months develop the product . Then again go
to Germany sell the product there.. Next know the new requirements and the cycle repeats….

Do you see any difficulties in your job?

My father being a bank manager we were mobile from my childhood.So I can adjust myself
easily to any new place. So that’s not at all a prob to me..I cant see any big probs in this job

He asked me to think carefully and tell. Again I told him that I could not see any probs. Then he
explained me:
 You have to understand the requirements of the clients properly and then deliver
it correctly to ur people. Any misunderstanding of urself or ur project people when u told them
would completely lead to the development of a wrong project.And when u tak back the project to
Germany u hav to make ur clients understand that the project they demanded was perfectly
developed. If they don’t agree then all u did will be waste.Dont you think all these are challenges

I told : Sir, my communication skills are good. I am confident that I can understand and deliver
correctly so that my project people will understand it.

Interviewer: K, good. Keep up ur confidence. But if ur people got a doubt in the project which u
did not come across while listening to the clients what would u do?

I: Today communication between 2 countries is not a big problem sir, if it is a small doubt I
would call them or through video chat I will try to know it. If it is so big then I will once again
go to Germany

Interviewer: If the germany people asked u to deliver the product in 2 months.When u go to hyd,
ur company people tell that it is impossible to complete in 2 months wat would u do?

I: I will ask m y people to do overtime..n also if necessary employ more people.

5.Next Case:

U have married a colleague in TCS and both of u r in the same project batch. Some information u
2 people have discussed at ur home and thought that u hav told ur project members but actually
did not. They came to know that u did not tell the information n directly complained to ur project
manager. He decided to change u to another batch.wat would u do?

I: I would 1st find out the reason. Then if necessary I hav no objection to change my batch.
Interviewer: If u r changing ur batch is it not that u r accepting ur mistake?

I: No sir, I don’t think that both of me and my husband working in the same batch is imp.

I: I will not complain to my manager. Team unity is imp. So, 1st I will tel al my project members
