These socks are designed
to flow seamlessly from
the Channel Island cast-on,
which forms small picots
on every other stitch. If the
picots are aligned with knit
stitches in a k1, p1 rib, this
decorative cast-on becomes
almost invisible. Twisted knit
stitches make the ribbing
pop, and cables further twist
the stitches into a diamond
pattern. The cables near
the top of the leg continue
clock-fashion along the
sides of the leg, where they
separate at the heel.
