TO HAVE este la trecut, adic:
I HAD
You HAD
She/he/it HAD + Verb la forma a III-a
We HAD
You HAD
They HAD

ATENIE

A nu se confunda cu PRESENT PERFECT care se formeaza cu ajutorul verbului


auxiliar TO HAVE la PREZENT + verbul la forma a III-a.
Exemplu :

Verbele regulate care se termin n Y la forma a III-a, ele primesc ED. Aa
c atenie la transformri.
Exemplu: TO REPLY
CONSOAN +Y = I + ED
He had replied after he listened her.
El a replicat dupa ce a ascultat-o.

VOCAL +Y = Y + ED
TO PLAY
The child had played after he ate.
Copilul s-a jucat dupa ce a mancat.

PAST PERFECT SIMPLE este folosit pentru a exprima o aciune trecut,


anterioar altei aciuni tot din trecut care este si ea menionat.
Aceste dou aciuni apar de obicei n dou propoziii cnd se afl n raport
de SUBORDONARE.
Exemplu:
After I HAD SEEN the movie, I BOUGHT the book.
Dupa ce am vazut filmul, am cumprat cartea.

Dac cele dou aciuni apar ntr-o fraz n propoziii COORDONATOARE,


ele se traduc prin PAST SIMPLE.
Exemplu: I SAW the movie AND I READ the book.
Am vzut filmul i am citit cartea.

De obicei, PAST PERFECT SIMPLE se traduce prin urmatoarele timpuri:

PERFECT COMPUS:
Dup ce a vzut piesa, ea a plecat acasa.
After she had seen the play, she went home.

PERFECT SIMPLU
nainte s cnte, ea dans.
Before she sang she had danced.

PAST PERFECT SIMPLE este folosit cnd vrem s accentum faptul c


prima aciune s-a terminat nainte s inceap a doua.

Had danced drank Cola

After I had danced, I drank Cola.

WHEN
When he entered the room, he saw that somebody HAD TAKEN his phone.
Cnd a intrat n camer a vzut c cineva i luase telefonul.

AS SOON AS
As soon as she had called her mum, she made a coffe.
Imediat cum si-a sunat mama, ea a facut o cafea.

BY THE TIME
By the time he entered the shop, she had already put the jars in the bag.
La momentul n care a intrat in magazin, ea deja a pus borcanele in geant.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER
Immediately after she had swum, she took a shower.
Imediat dup ce a notat, ea a facut un du.

UNTIL
I had written the composition until she came home.
Am scris compunerea pn a venit ea acas.

BEFORE
Before she watched T.V, she had bought some popcorn.
nainte s se uite la televizor ea i-a cumprat popcorn .

AFTER
After Marry had written the letter, she sent it.

La negativ se menine topica propoziiei.Se adaug ns ntre auxiliarul to


have si verb negaia NOT .
S+HAD+NOT+V-ed/III-a
Exemplu:She had not danced before she drank Cola.
Ea nu a dansat nainte s bea Cola.

La interogativ-negativ se introduce negaia NOT intre subiect si verb.


HAD + S+ NOT+V-ed/III-a
Exemplu:Hadnt she danced before she drank Cola ?
Nu a dansat nainte s bea Cola ?
