Known Issues
8 If you trying to export a Real-time outing whilst it is paused and you have
requested a channel for export that currently has no data, the export dialog
will stop at Commencing export.
The current work-around is to close the export dialog. This will not cancel
the export. If you now un-pause the Real-time outing, the export will
complete.
9 System crash when starting Pi Toolbox after undocking a laptop with no
onboard parallel port.
This issue occurs where a parallel port exists in a docking station for a
laptop, but not on the laptop itself. In this case starting Pi Toolbox after
performing a warm un-dock will cause a system error and subsequent
reset. This is immediate, and results in a loss of all unsaved data on the
machine.
To work around this issue you can do one of the following: Always start the
laptop in an undocked state. Always reboot the laptop when un-docking.
Disable the parallel port in the BIOS.
10 When playing a video, it is also shown full screen on the other monitor.
This happens if the video mirroring feature of your video card is enabled.
You can disable this option on the tab for your video card under advanced
display properties, Nvidia calls this feature Full Screen Video, for ATI video
cards it is called theater mode, and Matrox calls it PureVideo/DVDMax.
11 Issues with the use of filters on real-time data.
The band-pass filter is not being evaluated correctly when used on
channels obtained from a real-time data source. This will be addressed in a
future release. Band-pass filtering of logged data is unaffected.
12 Excel 2007 issues.
Not all features for the hosting of Pi Toolbox components within Excel 2007
are supported.
Due to the tightened security in Excel 2007 the featured within Pi Toolbox
that enables the selection of the starting cell from within Excel itself triggers
several security warnings about the running of macros. To work arround
this problem, run Excel manually and select the starting cell for the table.
Copy that cell onto the clpboard and the in the Report tabe of the Excel
Reports display, select the relevant starting cell entry in the Tables grid and
paste in the data from the clipboard using Ctrl+V. This will set the cell
reference using the correct format.
When using both Excel Reports functionality and Look-Up Tables there is a
performance hit if both sets of data are placed on the same Excel
worksheet. We strongly recommend placing these sets of data on different
Excel worksheets.
13 Comparison of data with respect to distance.
When comparing data between multiple outings it should be noted that
only the Time / Distance, and Media displays can be configured to
compare values by distance. All other displays will show values based on
the time of the cursor from the currently active outing.
14 Some field update information removed as part of uninstallation.
When Pi Toolbox is uninstalled, and field update information that relates to
the possible number of worksheets, displays, and / or outings that can be
used within Pi Toolbox will be removed from your computer. If you later re-
install Pi Toolbox with the same or later version, you will need to re-apply
any field update to ensure continued opperation.
Compatibility Issues
15 Office 2000 is no longer officially supported.
16 If you are using a hardware key on the parallel port of a Dell
Latitude C600 laptop, the parallel port will not be able to connect to
an external floppy drive.
17 If you are using a hardware key on your parallel port, make sure
that the port is enabled in the system bios. For more information,
contact your PC manufacturers support department.
18 Use of Pi Toolbox with Office 2007 may not always work as
expected.
