Alexandria Central School District Names New Superintendent

The Alexandria Central School District Board of Education has selected Christopher Clapper as the new Superintendent. Mr. Clapper is currently the K-6 Principal at Southern Cayuga Central School District in Aurora, New York. He has a Bachelor's degree from SUNY Cortland and a school administration degree also from SUNY Cortland. The Board thanked all those who provided comments during the selection process, and they invite the community to welcome Mr. Clapper when he starts on December 27, 2017 pending the Board's formal appointment.

RE: Appointment of Superintendent of Schools

We are pleased to announce that the Board of Education has selected Christopher Clapper as the
next Superintendent of the Alexandria Central School District, pending formal appointment by
the board at its next meeting. The appointment is effective December 27, 2017. Mr. Clapper
currently serves as the K-6 Principal at Southern Cayuga Central School District in Aurora, NY.

Mr. Clapper is a graduate of SUNY Cortland and earned his school Administrative degree from
SUNY Cortland.

The Board wishes to thank those members of the faculty, staff, student body and community who
took the time to provide the Board with comments on each of the candidates. This input was very
helpful as we worked to finalize this important decision. Please join us in welcoming Christopher
Clapper to Alexandria Central School District.
