UNIT I

1. a) Enlist the methods of preparing approximate estimate for buildings. Explain 8


any two methods in detail.

b) What data is required for preparing detailed estimate differentiate between 8


revised and supplementary estimate.

2. Fig. 1 shows a plan of a small building and section of a wall. Calculate the
quantities of the following items (any two) and enter them in standard
measurement sheet.

3. a) Fig. (2) shows a R.C.C. beam. Calculate total quantity of M.S. 8


Reinforcement. Also prepare schedule of Bars.

b) Fig. (3) shows a footing and column reinforcement. Calculate the quantity of 8
steel for footing. Also prepare schedule of Bars for footing.
c) Fig. (3) shows a footing and column reinforcement calculate the quantity of 8
steel for column. Also prepare schedule of Bars for column.

Fig. (3) Assume clear cover for column = 40 mm


and clear cover for footing = 50 mm.

i) R.C.C. work (1 : 2 : 4) mix for Slab, Lintel, Chajja etc. excluding


reinforcement.

ii) Plastering 25 mm thick in CM (1 : 4) for 200 m2 surface area.
