Thank you for the feedback. I will work on recapping instructions clearly, modeling expectations, and being willing to stop and re-explain if needed to ensure student understanding. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Strengths of the lesson:
Teacher set clear expectations for behavior at the start of the lesson.

Teacher dropped-in on groups to assess how they were performing in tasks.

Pupils were used as a model to show what a correct response looked like.

Children were focused and on-task for the majority of the session there was a work-like buzz in
the classroom.

Because the boundaries were set at the beginning, pupil behavior was consistently of a high
standard during the lesson.
Areas for development:
Recap instructions many children are EAL and wont hear/understand everything the first time.
Ideas: ask children to tell you what they are about to do. Bullet point recap the steps e.g. first
then

Model what you expect. Some children were confused with the main task. Give them an example
that they can make use of when stuck so they know what it should look like.

Dont be afraid to STOP. If you think the lesson isnt clear enough for the pupils, stop them and
try to explain again what the learning is about. You may need to show more examples or explain
something in a different way if they still dont understand.
