Day 2 Tasks

The document discusses managing transitions in the classroom. It provides examples of transition strategies like counting from 1 to 3 and saying "give me five" to get students' attention. It also has the observer evaluate these strategies and suggest an alternative way to say "give me five" that is more engaging. The document also has the observer add to a list of strategies for building relationships and discusses which are most effective, like communicating with families and colleagues, and learning about students' interests. It concludes with questions that reflect on why transitions are important for helping both children and teachers.

activity. I think they need to practice
this transition. If I were the
teacher I will make it in a
unique way. For example, I
will say give me five and I
will stay quiet for 2 minutes
to observe the children
behavior and grab their
attention.

Table 3: Over the course of this placement, add to this list of practical strategies for building
positive relationships with children, colleagues and families. Discuss which are most
effective.

-Communicate with families and colleagues.

-Asking the students about what they like and what they dont like

-Share with the students about what I like and what they like.

Questions to reflect upon:

1. Why do you think transitions are important? It's important when the teacher wants her
students to end one activity and move to another, also it's important to manage the students.
2. How do they help children? It helps children to know what they should do.
3. How do they help the teacher? It helps the teacher to manage the classroom and follow the
lesson plan that she put.
