Computer Applications Lecture Contents

Course Description

This course focuses on a breadth-first coverage of computer science discipline, introducing


computing environments, general application software, basic computing hardware, operating
systems, desktop publishing, Internet, software applications and tools and computer usage
concepts; Introducing Software engineering and Information technology within the broader domain
of computing, Social issues of computing.

Course Objectives

To enable the students to use the computer effectively in multitude of academic scenarios
To enable the students to understand the basic parts of computer system and their
relationship
To understand the basic terminologies of computer
To design document layouts that are creative and properly formatted
To master the basic uses and procedures of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation
softwares
