How Technology Changed Human Nature
For decades, humans have been using technology to help them realize some of their
mayor activities in life. However, even technology is undoubtedly helpful to people because
it brings more efficient and fast ways to do some activities, at the same time it is causing
some major issues in todays society. In this essay I would convince you in which ways cell
phones has been harmful to humans because of the effects it has over our activities in such a
way that it controls us and made us dependent to it. It has been proved that cell phones can
create physical and mental conditions that affect people health. Finally, cell phones can be
used as a way of discriminating toward those who cannot afford their cost.
To begin with, people are using cell phones every second. We cannot think of a life
without a computer, cell phone, iPad, cars, airplanes and the other things we call technology.
We are constantly texting, posting on Facebook, texting while driving or during a family
reunion. For many hours in a day, we are devoted to cell phones in such a ridiculous way that
those artifacts have control over our lives and seclude us from the rest of the world. Why is it
okay for this generation to be connected, yet unconnected at the same time? When it comes to
family talking, everyone is using their phones. Family time and talking to each other at the
dinner table is like an animal in the process of extinction. For this first reason , I believe that
cell phones are definitely not the best thing going on in this world today. Nobody knows how
Second, cell phones can cause physical and mental conditions. We are using our cell
phones since we wake up in the morning. We use them when washing our teeth, during
breakfast, in the car when going to college, and during study time. The use of these artifacts
in a long term can cause physical conditions such as back and arm pain, blurry vision and

headaches. Also, we can become addicted to cell phones in a way that affects our social
activities, peer interaction, can cause problems to sleep, anxiety and depression. The
the addiction to the Internet. To those who have a poor control of temper and emotions,
becoming addicted to cell phones is very easy. In order to prevent this, we may have to
establish a schedule in which we are going to use the cell phones for activities different than
The third way cell phones are affecting us is because they are used as measure of
wealth and development. In an individual, the lack of a cell phone affects their
communication, transportation, purchasing and status. People that did not have access to a
cell phone are been secluded from society. Sometimes these people are discriminated because
they are poor and cannot compete in the same economic level as others. In terms of the
countries that cannot have this kind of technology or the technology is outdated, it means
being rejected, discarded and controlled by those others countries who have all the money to
In conclusion, cell phones are a good means in which human can do their activities
more efficiently and fast. Also, cell phones have been useful in the development of societies
and countries, but in the same way it has impose a hardship to us. People are been controlled
and dominated by cell phones. We are incapable of doing nothing without this modern
artifact. We define a develop society by the technology it possesses or the opportunity it has
to develop or acquire it. This same measure we are using with individuals. In this essay we
discuss only three ways in which cell phones affect us, but we can think of many more that
